You can rip records to your iPod. Just plug your stereo into your computer's sound input and record it in real time.

I don't know what it is, but vinyl has a certain warmth to it. So, when manufacturers advertise with 24-bit mastering, it's stupid because it's only pressed at 16-bit.
Now I know why the Beatles Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab VINYLS sell for so much. You're getting perfect sound and 100% of the music. People are paying $600+ for one LP.

I voted for vinyl, because i think you get simply more for your money, they look
incredibly cool and they sound just good.
Here in Germany vinyls cost the same like CD´s, so if they have a Vinyl of the
music im searching for i take vinyl. At home I attached some wooden bars to the wall
and i put them on the bars. In order to that i dont need posters or something, real
vinyls are my posters !!! i took an image of my wall for yout:

Hey wait...you can buy Oomph! albums at regular price and you're picking up US pop? Just kidding with you. Seriously though, alot of the German stuff I listen to is sick. I always wonder what the other stuff over there is like. I mean I did hear that "Heirate mich" made a little bit of splash forcing the band to print the lyrics french on the album, but because I mainly listen to the more metal side of German music (Rammstein, Oomph!, Megahertz) I had this wierd misconception that all German music was violent and repulsive....which is hardcore.
Regaurdless, to get back on topic I still think vinyl sucks.
