I play upright and electric bass ( both shown ). I also have an acoustic bass (not shown).

Yes, I am standing ON the upright while playing and yes a string is missing ( rocked out too hard that day ).

Its time to clean up your room. Our bassist's bass looks alot like your electric but it has a smaller body and only 1 volume and one tone knob instead of your four. Does anyone know where online to get a good PA system?

I've played bass for 1 year coming this March. Self-taught, and started a band with 2 members on this board; Spectre2689 and blink_182. Mike is a guitarist, and Tony is our drummer. We played a show on Sunday, and it was awesome; a great experience.

I rock out on a 5 string Squier Precision bass.

I played 2 years of drums at junior high school, and I'm not too horrible at it after 2 more years of focusing on bass and guitar stuff.

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

I voted trumpet because I've been playing that the longest, but I also play piano, and I just started learning bass guitar so I can play some rock tunes and possibly jam with my buddies. I'm really into playing jazz on trumpet, and piano.

I marched snare for 4 years in high school and then did 1 year in a drum and bugle corp. I decided not to march in college though. I play set now mostly. I also play guitar and keyboard a lot.

I play the Bass. I got a no-name brand off of eBay, it works nicely though. However, when I say no-name, I mean it. The mini-Amp that came with it had a spot for a company's name, but it was blank.

On top the bass, I play a good few instuments. I play the "Me hitting my belly", the "Me Whistling", and the "Nose", but those weren't listed. I ended up voting other.

Southpaw, other than that pile of NERF guns behind me, the rest of the room was clean. Our drumemr came back from study abroad and the pile was cleaned ( after the picture ) so his drums would fit.

Lot more drummers here than I expected! I thought it was just me and Lefty. I would march snare, but our school is too poor to buy decent marching equipment. Lets hear it for having a school district that can't get their shit straight.

I love my saxophone, its my child. Its a Selmer super action 80 II alto, cost me 3 grand (more like my parents' 3 grand). I also play a nice Yamaha soprano, and crappy flute my school just gave me. I am currently saving to buy this bad boy http://www.selmer.fr...finition/vn.htm I call it "the blaxohpone." I also dabble in clarinet, guitar and bass. I play in my high school's symphony, marching, jazz band and jazz combo. Sometimes I fear for my life in symphony band, see, Im only a sophomore but somehow I managed to get first chair and tht does not make the upperclassmen happy. Once this senior girl came to rehersal drunk and started calling me 'devil child.' Jazz is definately my thing though, I eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner, and occassionally brunch.

Kind of unrelated, (well semi, since most of you play in a band or band instruments)
Do you guys know the band Gordon Goodwin? Frickin sweet, lemme tell ya.
They actually came to our school to give our band a workshop (they had a concert that evening) but the improv.....If you ever think that you're good at something just listen to their improv to lower your self-esteem again.

Sheesh. No one with a trombone? I seem to be the only one. Played for only about 3 years. I usually just play by ear so I can pretty much play anything, including rock music. I am thinking about picking up a German bass trombone with two rotary valves on two seperate triggers. That way I'll be kickin' butt in high school (largest marching band in the STATE! Go East Kentwood!)

Yeah dude, they aer awesome. We actually just got done playing Count Bubba (crappy name, sweet song) where I got the sax solo in it. Now we're starting Horn of Puente which is pretty hot, has a flute part. They are really good though, especially that song Hunting Wabbits. Thats so cool that they did a workshop with you guys.
Just another thing, does anyone know if their jazz bands are singning up for the Essential Ellington competition in New York?
