I get 75' on my recently modded maveric! its no lemon at all! whered you get that idea! Besides these have good rof. :alien:

What mod did you do? Personally, I agree with ompa, except I don't like to swear. Either you're using estimated ranges and you suck at it, or you had like a Catagory 5 hurricane's wind going with you. Either way, HOW THE CRAP DID YOU GET 70+ FEET WITH A PEICE OF SEMI-CRAP GUN LIKE THE MAVERICK??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

EDIT: sorry about that, I just get extremely pissed when idiots do completely stupid posts like that. Find out the ranges, use a measuring tape, and tell us the truth, bucko.

I'd have to say that it is physically impossible to get more than 50' with a Maverick. I don't personally own one, but I've seen them being used and have also seen many internal pictures of them online. The person who just said his got 70+ feet is an example of EXACTLY what cxwq was trying to state before: half (if not more) of the ranges people say their Nerf guns get are bullshit.

I've had similar situations that you have had, ompa. I remember when I first got my SM1500, and everyone reported 90 ft+ ranges when they single barreled it. I single barreled mine, and achieved ranges of around 70 feet. While not a bad range, its 20 feet short of what other people were claiming, and I just thought I was a terrible modder. I now think that it is more likely that the ranges people posted were enhanced a tad, and it left a more honest range tester like myself to feel inadequate.

Basically, we should only really trust ranges that are given out by people who have a history of being honest members of the community.

I think the biggest current case of lemons is the new Magstrike. I don't own one, but I have heard multiple users talking about the different amount of pumps it takes to unload a full clip, even on stock guns. Sometimes it was off by even ten pumps. Also, when my friend bought his first NiteFinder, it couldn't shoot a dart more then ten feet. After restrictor removal it was back to normal.

I have a magstrike and let me tell you something.. I have only not fired a whole clip once due to not enough pumps. When people claim that they fire 2 darts out of a full pump they are complete liars.

I also have a couple of friends that own magstrikes and they agree with me.

I would also have to say that the Magstrike is lemon out of the box but can be turned godly with the proper mods.
Did anyone else notice that the last semi-appropriate post was about 20 months old? Didn't think so. Lets leave this thread alone.

But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Being that it was 20 months ago, this thread has actually gotten somewhere. My input on lemons. I don't really think guns are lemons, however I do believe people think they have a lemon beacause some untrustful people post bullshit ranges and that becomes the standard. Then people bitch and say "OMG I DIDN'T GET 150 FT WITH MY NF, I MUST HAVE A LEMON!" That's my personal opinion.

Wow. Today I took my weekly trip to target and purchased a Titan and a NF. The titan works amazingly out of the box but unfortuneatly the NF barely fires a dart. I think that is why NF's were 5 dollars at my target. They might have been returns.

So anyway All I did to the NF was take out the AR. I have done this mod numerous times and did not touch any internals (not even the light) of the gun. So I know for a fact that this gun is faulty.

Instead of getting really pissed off I just went back to target and got another NF. Now some 5 year old is going to have a NF that shoots hard due to AR mod. (If it works)

This is the first time I ever had "lemon" guns.

Nf's should be simple enough to test if its a lemon. Just check the spring, plunger and maybe the o-ring. As for me, I have gotten quite a couple of lemons: the rf20 and magstrike. I guess Buzzbee can be called a cheap company because the pull-back lever of my mustang six broke and when I fixed it, the catch snapped. I hate lemons in short though.

Edit- Sorry, nevermind this post I guess.

This thread faded away in March, 2005. That means it's over a year old.
