Hello. I am fairly new to Nerf, and would like some more Nerf guns that are fairly good. I have read both sporkboyofjustice's and ItallionStallion's articles on how to find Nerf guns, but they don't help because I don't have access to the stores they talk about in their articles. I can only get guns from the store because I can't find any anywhere else. I am too young to drive and don't have a car. My family went to the local swap meet, and it seemed more like small businesses renting booths instead of opening their own store, rather than a giant garage sale as I thought it would be. I pictured people renting booths and putting stuff they didn't want on a table and selling it. Instead, I saw clothes, fountains, plants, rocks, and medieval weaponry (sweet...). I am too young to drive and the Goodwill store is pretty far away. The only garage sales I can go to are the ones that are in my neighborhood and in nearby neighborhoods. So how do I get discountinued Nerf guns? eBay has high prices, and I can't get Nerf guns locally. I know some kids who have discontinued guns, but they won't sell them. I know a kid who has a Lock 'n' Load that he never uses, but he won't sell it. My friend has a SuperMaxx 1500 that I really want, but he doesn't want to sell it to me because he claims he's going to sell it on eBay for mad money, yet he's too young to use eBay and his parents won't sell it for him. Does anybody have any tips on how to get people to sell you their Nerf guns cheap, or how to obtain Nerf guns somehow?

In case you were wondering, here's my arsenal:

1x AirTech 4000
2x SuperMaxx 3000 blue version, 1 has a broken pump handle
2x Titan
2x Hornet
2x Scout
5x Nite Finder old edition

Offer higher prices to your friends. I mean, I search for garage sales within a few mile radius with my bike, and I've gotten some good stuff off of that, but it takes alot of looking to find even one nerf gun. Out of the 30+ garage sales I've been to, the best thing I got was a Secret Shot 1. I mainly get my guns by talking to various people at school. I ask everyone, no matter how wierd I may seem. You'd be suprised, ask even girls, sometimes they have older brothers that left a bunch of nerf guns.

I believe the place where you invisioned a giant garage sale is actually called a swap and shop. The place is literally a gold mine for Nerf guns, collectables and ANYTHING else. Alot of the times though, you'll find absolute crap, but sometimes you will find gold.

Garage Sale season starts mid-march so around that time you should start to get lucky.Garage sales are always hit or miss, you usually have to go to quite a good deal of them to get what you want though.

If your REALLY desperate for a few guns then you should try to list a want add in the Newspaper. I tried this last year and only got 1 gun. Its risky, but i really think theres a good chance that someone will have a whole lot of them they'd want to sell. Its damn risky (usually costs around 13-15 dollars to list) but it could be VERY rewarding.

Thanks for reading my article, i really like it when people read that article. I think i might add another version to it somewhere down the line.

Ompa adds some good points aswell, asking your friends can be easy aswell. Instead of offering them alot, you should always offer less and make the "they aren't worth anything anyways" argument.

As long of your parents aren't too paranoid, and you know about how to use it (I just learned), check out Ebay and Amazon, as well as online toy shops you can Google for. Some stuff will be expensive, but some will be very cheap. I recently bid on a Crossbow that started at $18, but it went up to $48. For a Crossbow, that's still relatively cheap, but it's not hard to find more abundant guns for cheaper. Also, a lot of toy stores and Wal-Marts will keep Nerf guns in stock for a long, long time, esp. if they ordered a lot and/or they didn't sell well. If you don't see what you're looking for on the shelves, it can pay to ask if they have it in stock; often times older guns simply get lost in the shuffle. Good luck.

The collection you have is quite good especially since your just getting your feet wet. If you have the night finders you really don't need your friend LnL, I recommend you go to Target and pick up the dual Air Tech2000 pack if you can find it.

Anyway trolling thrift shops and swap meets are going to produce mixed results. The key is persistance, keep going back, and keep your eyes open. You'll get lucky eventually.
