I've been reading yours and nerfhq's forums for a while, and yours is by far the least...n00bish. Anyway, I've developed an idea for "true" shotgun weapons. I keep on hearing how people have shotgun modded their NF's, AT2Ks, etc. by splitting the barrel. This can't be right. So i went back and reviewed-shotguns work by having a shell full of BBs, and exploding them out. So i took a dart, and ripped its cap off (gently, gently). I cut it into 1/2" sections, placed them on a metal ruler, and filled them almost all the way with hot glue(not too hot). I dropped a BB in, and then made a small finsishing dome. I shoved ten down the barrel of my AT2K, and pumped 4 times. Pulling the trigger...IT WORKED! They all went out in a sort of cone, with about a ten foot spread at thirty feet.
These should work with almost any pump gun, provided the over pressure release valve is plugged.

So....comments? Suggestions?

Can you clarify the cutting part and bb part? I'm not sure I follow.

Basically he made a bunch of 1/2" long stefans weighted at 1 bb each.. put them all in the barrel and fired.

I always though thats what everybody did when they refered to 'shotgun'.

Id say that this plan has two minor flaws. One problem, thats not that bad at all, is that with single bb bb's, you would get really bad ranges. But its a shotgun blast which would probably used in close range. The other problem is that you would have to make different kinds of darts. Personlally, I think that carrying around two different kinds of darts and making them also, would get sort of annoying. But still, a ten foot spread is pretty good.

Me and my brother came up with this idea as well, we cut our stefans to about 1/3 to 1/2 in. put a tack and some glue on it, and shoved a bunch down the barrel. It works good indoors for me.

Sorry if I was unclear, AirApache. But it's exactly as xedice put it. duce, it only gets abou forty feet, so yes-really bad ranges. But if you're being rushed, it really doesn't matter. What I do for the ammo thing is put ten down each of the four barrells before I start a war, and leave a bunch with my extra ammo and guns. You will rarely EVER need all four shots, but their for security. Also, If you take 1/4 vinyl tubing, put some hot glue in a ring around the middle, and shove it up the 1/2" piece of foam, put a drop of hot glue on the end, center a BB, and pour a dome over top, it gets slightly better ranges.

There was a topic about what I'm about to say, but I'm to lazy to look it up. I was at the store new years eve, and saw these party popper things. There say "not a firework" on them. There spring powered and fit 8 or something darts well. About 30-40 foot range, 5 ft. spread +/- some.(estemated/rounded ranges, so correct me if i'm wrong). There are made to shoot confette and come in packs of 2. there are 10" long and have an 1" circumfrance.

Nice, NSF. Do they fit 8 shotgun shells or stefans? Could you give me a link or some further explanation on how they were used? I don't really grasp how they are shot. Thanks.

If what I think he is talking about is what I’m saying than they are plastic shells, compressed with confetti and have a cap at the end of them. The “gun” then strikes the cap causing pressure and exploding the confetti in a spread…

I think I get it now...sort of. My cousin, at the family New Year's party, got one of those, and tested it outside. I didn't get to see it, but when he came back in, he said that it was irreusable. So it must be a different kind. I'm gonna go search.

I'm still modding my BBB, but I also use a shotgun config on it. The idea is to carry around 4-6 spare barrels, pre-loaded, each with 4 1-inch megaStefans. I get a decent 5-foot spread at about 40-50 feet. I really like the idea with the tacks though, I am going to try that.

The shotgun is made by TNT, a brand of firework, like phantom, black cat, etc. It twists at the back to "fire" it. I want to mod in to shoot with a pull instead.

Once again-nice. If it twists, then Im pretty sure you can't pull-mod it. But try anyway. How much do those things cost?

I saw something at a dollar store called the Party Popper (the gun was, not the store). It looks a tiny bit like a Lock n' Load, it's about the same size and has an actual trigger on it. You load in a little pink or green cartridge and pull the trigger. To open it up to get the cartridge in, you pull on a handle on the top of the gun and stick the shell in. A little hammer hits this tiny button thing on the back of the shell and it shoots confetti everywhere. So it is basically a cap gun with some shredded paper. I haven't found a way to make it shoot darts yet, but I will tell you if I do. It would be hard, though, with the top part and all. You would have to cut off the top half of the gun, but it would still fire like the Nerf blaster pen thing, seeing as how it's got a hammer. It's still fun to sneak up and shoot near someone's head, though.
