I have this Super Maxx 3000(the yellow tank version). It totally sucks beacause you pump it about 10 times, the darts thill go only 5 feet. <_< I am using original Larami darts that came with it. I have seen the mods on nerfonline, but they basically just deal with replacing the barrels with pvc. Is there anything that can be done????

Well you could, replace the barrels with PVC. But, I think your SM3000 is just broken. Open it up and see whats wrong.

According to nerfcenter.com the gun you mentioned can only have a maximum of 6 pumps. You might of overpumped it and busted the air chamber. Try google for mods.

You can't blow the tank on a gun that hasn't been modded.

If I recall correctly, my sm3k (blue) got about 15 feet out of the box. I never bothered to mod it because I hated the ergonomics. The air restrictors in that gun are among the worst. You have even odds of getting 50' or better if you rebarrel it.

That or you have a pump problem and it isn't generating enough pressure.

Check for a crack in the pump tube. That's most likely. If not, then open it up and check for any damaged o-rings in the firing mechanism/chamber seal. If not, check for tears in the tubing.

Cx, the 3 SM3k's my friend had all had starting ranges of at least 20ft., so 5 ft. seems really abnormal to me.

(Yes, I am alive, just 2 more weeks before semester is over, with exams, and I can start my post-whoring binge again. THIRST, you have until then to reclaim and secure your spot.)

Not blow the tank per se, but many stock air pump guns have difficult to fix leaks, such as from the back of the firing pin.

My best guess is a small leak that empties very slowly, or the plunger head on the pump tube lost its seal, requiring you to pump it much more for less air, this happened to several other guns, but 3k's generally have well made seals in the pump tube.

Ompa, I need my spot back!

Ok, the pump is fine by itself! A coulpling on the pump hose cracked into pieces on the barrel side. I pumped it up while connected and you could feel the air coming out slowly from that point. Problem solved. Now what shoud I use as a substitute coupling? Electrical tape?

Stop using tape and hotglue to seal leaks!
