A few weeks ago i bought my first shot. We all no what first shots are, if you don't you are a homeless noob. I moded it by my self, the brass I used was a bit to wide. Last night I was in a war with my friends, one of my friends had my frist shot because he's new. After only ten shots he said that it was not fireing. I thought it was him, (he put a dart in backward before) but there was not tention when I pulled back on the lever. I opened it up later and found the lever working perfectly. The plunger had snaped at the head right underneth the head. I don't know why it snaped and was woundering if you do, and no it was not droped.
thx from CaMbLaM.

Sorry to hear about your "Frist Shot", buddy.

But all kidding aside, you may have gotten a defective one. I've had a total of five for the better part of two years plus, and the two remaining that I have (I gave away the other three to kids in my neighborhood) are working perfectly, and that's with barrel modifications.

Did you stretch your spring in your mod process, or replace it? I wouldn't know why you'd want to, they're pretty good and strong for blasters that size, but if you did, you would have already added extra stress on the plastic parts, which as you know, don't last forever. Add to that the rapid priming and firing of nerf battles and it's only a matter of time before parts start breaking.

A while back I wrote a little article on the down side of modding blasters...it's kind of a sad fact of life that the more power you seek, the greater the wear and tear on our toys, and eventual failure.

You had the First Shot for a couple weeks according to what you posted, so you are probably out of luck as far as returning it, aside from the fact that return policies are probably voided by altering the blaster.

The only remedy I see is to attempt to repair the plunger end with a sheet metal screw, epoxy, and a prayer. Other then that, you have a new addition to the spare part pile.

Good luck!

"With great power comes great responsibility."

Sorry, only semi-related.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find the correlation between not knowing what a First Shot is and being a homeless newbie...clarify please?

Pineapple's sheet metal/epoxy trick works for that kind of thing, but as I don't actually own one, the only other remedy I can think of now is to actually replace the entire plunger shaft (which would be a shaft in the ass to do). (haha, get it? yeah that was dumb)

its funny how "live fast, die young" works for nerf guns too

any hoo, arent first shots cheap ? i wouldnt give it a second thought even if it was defective.

i've never had a first shot, but if any of my NFs broke i really wouldn't loose any sleep over it.

well, thats my opinion, and not to imply that your sweatin all that much over it, i guess its always nice to get the imput from other members.

The Maxshot and Firstshot are made by Lanard and are both spring powered guns.

Lanard makes Nerfalikes. They are not now nor have they ever been financially tied to HasLarKenOddTonkCo, but they produce Nerf-compatible guns. Kinda like Lego and MegaBloks.

Those with less experience, perhaps less of a home...
