December Yano Recap

Perfect, 60-something and sunny weather. Optimal 10-16 people throughout the day. 13 freakin skirmishes in one day - 5 West Coast 5-hit, 6 CTF, 2 5-hit spring pistol. Nice mix of vets and a few new faces. Zero idiots. Hell, we even got thrown out of our two main areas at the school...
...which turned out to be a great thing because it led us to the Tranquil Grove Surrounded by Lava!
Awards!
Freak Out Cxwq Award: Team Desert Storm - for signing in as AnyaSeijin before making a 1.5 years later return to SoCal Nerf. Welcome back, guys.
Eulogy Award: Spoon - for the loss of his beloved SplitFire sidearm which fell from his holster during a daring CTF grab and is now leaking. Honorable mention to Toj for his horrific, but probably repairable BBB injury.
Good Sport Award: Everyone - for tolerating my verbal abuse every time they got a nice hit on me. Particularly Neonerfer for the beautiful 60' hit in CTF and Hubbard for his inspired play pretty much all day.
Un-Fucking-Hittable Award: Hubbard - for being absolutely untouchable despite carrying his entire arsenal either duct taped to his primary or slung on his back.
John Woo Award: We have TWO finalists in this category! Ray for an amazing run up a slanted tree trunk followed by mid-air hit on Spoon from 30' away during a pistol war. Josh for paying tribute to the master all day with his rolls, dodges, and leaps.
Had My Number All Day Award: Neonerfer/Rawray7/Silent Mercenary - the name of the award kind of speaks for itself here. Neo and Rawray could have hit me blindfolded and I did a poor job of keeping them both on my team. Silent Mercenary airmailed at least 5 of my 10 hits during the pistol war with his NF.
Putting Nerf Above Personal Safety Award: Josh - for climbing halfway up a freaking pine tree to rescue the SSII I threw there in a fit of Hubbard-inspired rage. The NIB Max Shot and PETG I gave him hardly seemed adequate compensation for returning my sidearm.
more to come...

Stupid standard express...
Oh well. We'll try to be ready and loaded for the next one.
Cx; I PMed you sopme pics of the Black Knight's war location. I hope you're pleased, because those are pretty bad pictures. When Nightwing gets his film developed, you'll get some clearer pictures from the side, so you can see the bushes from the full field angle clearly, rather than in a blurry, pixelated format.

Not only did Josh put the Nerf cause before his own life, but he did it with darts and pine cones flying overhead.
I’m really looking forward to the next one.

i would like to honorably mention toj's 750, which attempted to help get kevin's gun out of the tree, and will probably never work again because of it.Eulogy Award: Spoon - for the loss of his beloved SplitFire sidearm which fell from his holster during a daring CTF grab and is now leaking. Honorable mention to Toj for his horrific, but probably repairable BBB injury.
great war guys, thanks everyone who came.

Thanks for the good war guys, it was awesome. My body hurts beyond repair right now, as I have a huge bruise on my ass. I would have to say, that the pistol wars were my favorite. Considering I'd been playing with the pistols all day, everyone finally came down to my level. lol.
And thanks Kevin for the gun and PTEG. Your gun was with getting...now to get new pants, lol.

Spoon looks damned tired there...and Steve, Jebus Cripes, looks like a tree with blond hair. And since when did Ray shave off all his hair? Doesn't it get freaking cold in California during the winter...at all? Even a little bit?
While we're on the subject of Hubbard, he looks particularly scary in that picture. I know, I mean - I know Hubbard is generally a scary person, but he looks exceptionally kooky in that picture.

Spoon's getting old and is starting to settle down. No more wild cutoff sweatpants anymore.
I look damn rugged and you know it.
Ray's a giant douche. A fuzzy giant douche. Actually it's 75 degrees year round but sometimes it gets cloudy or drizzles.
Hubbard flew in on his gun/spaceship integration, The S.S. Hubbard. Don't ask.
(ps that war was fun.)

What format is that made for. It won't work in windows media player or quicktime for me.So, we've all been sick as dogs, and I wasn't able to edit the war footage until now.

Yeah, echinacea is good stuff, proven to increase the white blood cell count.
Don't forget that the cold virus, for whatever reason, can't survive in a Zinc environment. Cold Eeze! Seriously.

My favorite part by far was the whole, "HORSE RECTUM! HORSE RECTUM!!!" scene. Ah, man - that had me laughing for quite a while. Awesome job, Julie!
