I thought that homemade darts didn't have barley any accuracy so I tried a crapload of things to improve it.I finnaly found the easist thing.Put some masking tape around the tip of your dart before you hot-glue it.TIGHTLY rap it around.This increases accuray a heck of alot.That's right,that's all you do.

Dude, if your darts have bareley any accuracy, its because you suck at making them or are doing it wrong.as long as they are straight, and have a nice round dome of hot glue, they are extremely accurate.make shure the glue top is nice and round.And why the hell do you call them stevens?They were invented by stefan, so there stefans.

I would think it's a typo because V is right under F on a QWERTY board. Don't sweat.

That's a good idea there, Nerfnewbie, but you could also use a spring-loaded laundry peg so you don't need to get around the stickiness and awkwardness of masking tape.

Yeah, but they're not stefens either. They're stefans. And I think doing that would make the darts even less accurate.

No, actaully it's quite effective. Just because you've put something of your stefans that isn't foam or hot glue, it doesn't mean that it won't work properly.
It works well because it constricts the tip down and makes it more aerodynamic.
Does that make sense?

I'm actually going to give it a shot. My stefans and I hate each other, and I can't get Cx domes on my tip. I wonder, if you push the masking tape up just a smidgen', you can probably get the tip to be more round (since it doesn't just melt off the side). If not, I'll just keep practicin the ol' fashion way...

Don't let your guns get so hot and the glue wont melt the foam and be easier to work with. While Cxwq uses an icecube to get his domes perfect, I just use gravity and heat control.

Either way, a constricted tip isn't more aerodynamic, a constricted tail is.

I would guess that if it works better for him it's because the tape makes a better seal with his barrels or adds just enough weight to balance his darts properly. Either way, those are problems that most of us address in other ways.

Yes, I have tried it.
I used aerodynamic because I couldn't find an adjective to describe it. I guess if you do it tight enough it makes a bullet point. They worked good for me when I did them.

Stefans have great accuracy if there straight and have round tips.Wait, didn't I already say this? Oh well, if you cant get the tip round, make the crater deeperso you dont put toooo much glue over the top of the foam.Gravity will do the rest.

Alright, suppose taping the darts actually improves accuracy. Is it practical? If you're making 200 darts, are you going to tape every single one? Even if it were a drastic improvement, you're going to lose most of your darts in a war anyways, so why not just use your basic stefan? If it's inaccurate for you, you need to learn how to make stefans better. Even if you make a stefan that you think is perfect, there's going to be imperfections in the dart that make it go apeshit in mid-air sometimes. Live with it.

This is a bit off topic but I was wondering how long most people spend on making say, 200 stefans. It seems like lots of people get everything perfent and I was just wondreing how long it takes them.

For megas, you need 5/8 of an inch foam, not 5/6 of a foot, otherwise,

Also, I reccomend a candle w/ flame, cardboard, and some nails. I took a box, put a bunch of nails in it in a grid form, and then got a long nail. Light the candle, and you use the long nail to burn the hole in the back of the dark. Then you set it on a short nail which is atteched upwards into the box. This holds the dart upright so you can melt, glue, put the weight in, and glue.

And for 200 darts, i remember me and BW stayed up late one night before a war making something around 300 darts. As a 2 man team it took us maybe 3 hours or so.

The sleepless night will haunt me for all of my days. I swear we must have fucked up on at least 30 darts, and by the time 3:00am rolled around, we were too tired to give two shits.

Strangely, they were our best batch to date, made with blood, sweat, and yawns-a-plenty.

Mike was still shit…even with the good darts. I can make about 100 darts in about 1.5 hours which is not too bad…

Yeah, I figure about one and a half hours to make 100 darts on your own. Maybe even two hours if you're making them well. It's a lot easier if you have a friend helping you though. Like have him straighten them and put the weights in them, then glue them yourself, since that's gonna be what really affects your dart quality. Unless the dart itself is screwed, of course.

There you go.
It was simply a spelling error - I think she just didn't press the SHIFT button hard enough. Either that or she was in a rush because it's 5/8" foam to use for megas, not 5/6".

No biggy. That's all. Now lets get back on topic instead of questioning a simple error.
