Ok, this is my first large post, so I'll try to do the best that I can. Unfortunately, I have neither pictures nor have I fully completed this mod on my Nitefinder, but I'm just throwing my idea out to get some feed back.

First, when I see the Nitefinder I just see big, horrible, unrealistic plastic molding. I know that some may not agree with this and it actually has some beauty hidden deep down inside, but for starters on my bash of this initial design, I'll mention the bulky silver section of the gun. What real gun do you know of has an incomplete casing such as the one used for the Nitefinder? Many of you have taken the liberty to rid yourselves of this hideous mass of molded synthetics by just hacking off the whole front section of this gun and following the distinct lines that the original manufacturers put on it (yes, I'm talking about the part that surrounds the trigger and has some fake screw-heads plastered into the side). This was a small step, but a giant leap for cosmetic mod's kind. This was the sole reason why I devised this plan.

Now this basic cosmetic mod served its purpose, it trimmed the gun down, thus decreasing the area that a Nitefinder horded in our cargo pockets. In turn letting us stuff many more Stefans in the excess space. Unfortunately, I couldn't stand to see the Nitefinder butchered in such a ghastly manner. This cosmetic mod left the gun too front-heavy, aesthetically speaking, and made the Nitefinder look like a Beretta Tomcat 32acp INOX (SS)
Or a horribly deformed Oopma-Loompa gun, so I had to change it to please my aesthetic needs. So, over the next few days I will inform you about my plan to make the Nitefinder a more Feng Shui gun by balancing its inner beauty through the art of Yin and Yang.

P.S. :nugget: Ninjas are definitely Feng Shui. ;)

I have 1/2" ID (11/4" OD) pipe insulation sheathed over mine. It's like a condom; be safe.

It sounds interesting but you have to remember these guns are aimed at children. They don't aim to make it look good to adults. For kids, it will look fine but they still could have did a better job. Those screws on the opposite side you mentioned are really stupid. Sounds like it looks good. I would like to see a pictue if you get a camera.

Okay, ECN, it's yet another case mod, cosmetic mod, call-it-what-you-will for the venerable Nite Finder.

Lots of people have done cut down cases, PPK and P99 "alterations" with silencers and barrel extensions. All look pretty good to me, even if it's not necessarily my cup of tea.

Just please, please don't do a Katachi on us. That one got real long and dragged out. Not all of us are extremely interested in strictly cosmetic mods.

Feng Shui? I don't know if that would apply to a Nerf blaster? If it brings peace and harmony to your soul, more power to you. I'll stick to going to church.

Good luck with the mod!

EDIT; anyone remember Katachi's website address? I was wondering if he followed through on anything he boasted about.

i've found atatching a long, skinny piece of pvc to the top that goes back behind the cocking mechanismand making an almost shotgun like back handle to it looks pretty damn cool, though it looks like shit if you dont spraypaint it. also metallic blue krylon fusion paint looks awesome!

http://webpages.charter.net/katachi/

That's his site, although it's down currently.

Katachi was really good at asthetics, he was just a bit of an ass when it came down to mods. Everyone has their preferences, I respected him for his. Even if he was an ass alot.

Yeah, I saw Katachi's post, but I didn't read it. Don't worry, I won't drag it out that much, and because it's my first mod it might not even be descriptive enough. However, the Feng Shui was just a semi-humorous attempt for a joke. I'm not really taking this too seriously (I haven't even finished it yet due to my lack tools and time), but this is just a mod that I thought some of you guys might like.
I'm still not done with the write up and I don't have any picures, but I'll try to work on it some more some time in the future.

\n/(>.<)\n/ Rock on my fellow nerfers.

P.S. Sorry about not replying with more information earlier, but I've been pretty busy in the past few weeks.
