If a nerf gun was equipped with two plunger areas or two air tanks, and it was able to fire the first and then before the darts completely left the gun, a second burst of air slightly less or more powerful, would the end results change at all? You would probably need a nerf gun that was almost "bolt-action" to achieve this all before a dart leaves the barrel but it would be cool if it actually improved speed and range, instead of making the dart completely lose control. Reply if you think it would do anything.

Look up the single barreled Lightnin' Blitzes or Blast Fires that people have done.

Yes, more air volume will improve performance, but you're better off working on achieving higher air PRESSURE. A little different.

A good rule of thumb, More Air volume allows you to use a longer barrel, more air pressure allows you to have greater velocity in your shot.

both effect range, mind you.

Unfortunately it won't help much unless you have a change in size of your barrel. Added air power doesn't do much if your dart is already out of the barrel.
