I use 19/32nds to achieve the same thing on my SM5k. I made the 6" segment removable, and I also ported it. It looks like a silencer, but it's really just 1/32 wider than the 9/16ths barrel, giving the dart 5" of frictionless, yet guided flight.ah. would 12" of brass nested into 14"+ of PVC be as effective? the dart has more than 12" of guided flight, with a low-friction segment at the end.

It lowers the sound of the air "pop" and rush as it exits the barrel, but alas, it decreases range by atleast 8'. Not that big of a drop, but you can notice the velocity lacks.do you find that the porting does anything to muffle the noise?
