Hi, I am an engineer from Hasbro. I recently got an okay from our legal department to post on this site. As you may know, we read NerfHaven quite often. I have met a number of you at wars in New Jersey, and we hosted Talio and OneManClan last February to preview our new line.

This spring the news is still N-Strike. We are reissuing the NiteFinder within the N-Strike line and have the newest blaster, the Maverick REV-6. I have included the photos below. I apologize if they are a little dark--I don't have good lighting in my office--and if they are a little large--I didn't get a chance to. I am sure it is familar to those of you who have the N-Strike DVD.

I will be happy to answer as many questions as I can, though I am very limited in what I can tell you about future products.

Very Cool. Is the blue color scheme because it's a prototype, or is this just a change from the N-Strike red and orange? And do you know anything about the huge surge of crossbows, since they haven't been in production for over 10 years?

Interesting that the cylinder is off-center with respect to the frame of the overall gun.

What is the lever mechanism visible at the front? Does the cylinder swing out for loading as opposed to indexing it to load the darts? I assume that the plunger tube and other internals of this gun are similar to the Scout?

Also, can you confirm one way or the other if the crossbows which have been flooding the market are a re-issue similar to the RF20 and AT2k or if they are simply part of some long-lost shipment?

Is the Maverick spring powered? If so how is it cocked and how are the barrels rotated? It looks like a cool gun!

I am udderly speechless. I have one question, is the Powerclip re-release still going to happen or is it not going to be rereleased due to the Airtech 2000 2 pack at target? Thanks, gamefreak.

I think the reason the cylinder is off center is because it partially opened to reload, but maybe not. I hope this isn't just a knock off of the buzz bee toys six shot and I also hope that it has a bigger plunger tube than the six shot, but the top cocking mech. makes me worry.

2. What is the volume of the plunger tube? By the looks of the cocking mechanism, it doesnt look like the plunger tube can be too big...

That does look very nice, but I am concerned about the plunger tube as well. Besides that, does it automatically rotate with each shot/prime, or do you have to twist the chamber by hand?

EDIT: After looking at the second picture, the gun actually appears quite large. Does it shoot mega darts?

Maybe its just the weird angle, but that gun looks pretty big in comparison to your hand...About how big is it compared to say...a NiteFinder or a tech target--both great guns I might add

I hope this thing gets good or relatively good ranges, cuz I am sure to buy 2, whether or not they are good, they look awesome! I love a good ROF pistol! And seeing as I just got a revolver airsoft gun, I might have to go John Wayne on all yall. These guns along with the Nite Finders, and the N-Strike set are showing that nerf is coming back huge!!

I would think that these crossbows are from long ago, lost in the back but who knows, when I get mine, I will check the dates and what not on the box. Also, a rerelease of the Powerclip would be great! Seeing as my old one was broken down and used as spare parts.

Love the new paint job aswell.

I also noticed the rail on the top, but I bet everyone saw that first anyway

Grr, me and my editing, anyway, If you guys see the little grey thing attached to the rotater, it looks as if it would swivel out like the reall revolver, so that is how you load it. Awesome, I bet people will make interchangeable clips for them now!!!

Comparing barrel length to plunger length, i'd assume the plunger is about 2.5-3.5 inches, as megas are 4(?) inches long. But leaving room for air restrictors may well make the air chamber as large as the nightfinders. Looking forward too it! Verra badass with the whole push out and reload, definately revolver-esk. If this shoots megas we may be looking at a nightfinder replacement. Although loading from the front isn't as cool as back loading, i'm definately buying 2-3 just from looks alone...i loves my scout. yeah thats probably eight, 3 on each side, 2 hidden.

Since its name is the Maverick REV-6, I would assume it has 6 barrels, or wouldn't it be called the REV-8? Plus its a revolver, and I beileve all revolvers to date have 6 barrels.

It seems logical, since the Hornet was named the AS-6, and it had 6 barrels, the RF20 had 20 barrels etc.

Ahh, well anyway, as you can see, in the first photo, 3 barrels, including the one in the firing position, on the other side, there are 3, and it doesn't look like there could be one hiding under the bottom part, unless its just sneaky like that.

Oh, is that what you meant when you said the barrel was "off center"? If that's the case, I suspect that it should be able to go completely in- there isn't a barrel by the plunger- so it probably does come out! Ahh- there are 6 barrels, and it probably is removeable!

Definitely 6.

You'd have to have the cylinder oriented perfectly between barrels in order to see only 4 barrels of an 8-barrel revolver. With a 6-barrel, you see 4 in any orientation except where one barrel is rotated exactly facing you, then you see 3. It's pretty clear in both shots - y'all are blind.

Would the cylender automatically rotate, or would you have to manually turn it for each shot? That gun looks pretty cool.

I am guessing you would have to turn it manually, since that little grey peice that the revolver's clips resides on (we'll call it the rotator). The rotator doesn't seem that sturdy enough to turn the clip automatically, so I am assuming its manuel. I could be wrong though. The clip probably isn't initially removable; but that hasn't stopped us in the past

Judging by the pegs or whatever you want to call them on the back of the cylinder it could rotate automatically with the cocking lever, if it was attached to a angled peice like is used to lift the PC or other similar mechanisms. That lever in the front looks like its designed for it to swing out for loading. There is a gap in the case where that peice is, so it looks like it swings out.

The gun is six barrels. You have to take into account the spacing between them. Look closer, youll see. Tho not all revolvers to date have been six barrels, that just became standard. I could be wrong, but I believe it was originally a weight/balance issue.
