There's people over there in Iraq and Afghanistan, our age. There's people over there dying for someone else's freedom. There's people over there, who need something from us this Christmas.

Any Soldier - Send a care package before Dec. 6 (if you can)

Read it and think hard about what you can give. Let your school, church, or workplace know about Any Soldier. You'd be surprised how many people are willing to help.

It's important we let them know how much we appreciate their sacrifices and efforts.

I wish they were actually defending the freedom over in Iraq....their just targets over there being dooped into beiliving their fighting to keep the peace and make Iraqi freedom. If the Iragys want freedom they wouldnt be shooting us over there.

Don't get me wrong I like how they are willing to die to defend our freedom...I'm just wishing they wouldn't be in unneeded battle.

Hmmm....thats a damn good idea. But I don't know any soldiers... I'll just ask somebody who does. Now what should I send?

Read through the website, it details what to send and who you can send to. They have a list of servicemen and women who need basic things and fun things like snack foods. The site also has instructions and mail addresses for each individual soldier you can send to.

Thanks for the interest, glad to see someone who knows what something like this means.

Also a letter is a great idea... their is something special in the time it takes to let someone know how much you appreciate what they are doing. Particularly those in uniform.

It is good that you are bringing this site to our attention, Evil. Our soldiers deserve those little extras regardless of where or why they are stationed where they are. I like it that one of their suggestions is Beanie Babies for the soldiers to give to Iraqi children. Finally, we all have a use for those damn things that have been sitting in America's closets, collecting dust. Maybe I can talk a few ex-beanie collectors into sending some donations.

I remember hearing stories from one of my friends who was stationed in Iraq a few months ago. When it comes to donating DVD's, pr0n does go a long way for a poor soldier stationed out in a desert. I'm serious. The thing is though, usually soldiers order it themselves, and it's hard to please everyone. I would probably go with a universal type donation such as CDR's or DVDR's. Then they can burn what they want.

I also encourage the food listings they have there. It's only a matter of time before standard issue rations start to taste like shit. Beef Jerky is one of the best fucking foods out there (link found at the Anysoldier website):

I am sure Maddox would also agree with me on that one.

The site also has some other great suggestions. I just wanted to highlight some of my favorites.

Okay sorry, just my opinion.

I personally DO know a soldier who SIGNED UP BY FREE WILL, actually I know 2 soldiers, both signing up by freewill.

I think its a good idea you have.

Moose we have an all volunteer army. Of course they signed up by freewill.

I'll probably send one, but it will be solely for the soldier's support and well-being. In other words, me sending a care package isn't my way of condoning the war, but doing my best to help in a grim situation.

Funny. What did I just say? This isn't a political topic. Check out the site/organization and act accordingly people, I don't care if you send a package or if you dressed up like G.W. or Kerry for Halloween. What matters is that the most people see Any Soldier, not your political views, condemnations, or acclaim.
