When I put a DVD movie into my DVD drive, my computer pauses for a second, and then ejects the DVD. What should I do?

Maksure it's a DVD drive, and that you have the software to play dvd's.

It's very important to have the right software, InterVideo WinDVD 4 is a good start for basic viewing. It won't let you do screen capture or editing, but it's good for viewing your DVDs.
I hope that helps. I've actually considered raping my CD/DVD drive a few times, on the fact that it reads so differently than a CD drive; rendering some games impossible to play. But now that I put a regular CD drive in there, I can sometimes hear it crying at night about how useless it is...

Maybe you should get a new one, try to clean it, or try to remove some space in the drive maybe that would work. Maybe u just need new DVD software.

But I'll tell you this, I've lost many nights of sleep listening to my DVD RW/CD RW combo drive crying about how I put in a normal CD RW drive beneath it.
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to smash it with a hammer.
