the other thing i don't understant is why did you tell the hole nerf comunity about your driving experiences with you father? what was the point in that?

Now now Jon, if we start trying to figure out the meaning of everyone's posts here....well....lets just say we'd have to spend a few days on yours. You're not exactly a Wordsworth either.

JT: I understand what you're saying. I'm saying save up a little longer and get something cheap and new, or at least a newer used car with fewer miles. Used cars, especially used cars that are that cheap, are simply more trouble than they're worth most of the time. You get what you pay for and if someone is selling a car for $300 theres usually a REASON it's so cheap, whether or not they mention it up front.

Hmm, this reminds me, one of my uncles buys cars for 1000 bucks and gets them to run fine, and they last 5 years or so. Granted, he works for Ford, so he knows how to repair them. Umm... yeah, I'll be quiet now.

JT, I kinda agree with everybody else, a car for $100 will really be a piece of shit. Half of those cars being sold are STRICTLY being sold for their parts. My dad recently sold his 1995 Dodge Neon with a busted A/C for $2000. Then, he bought a used Mercury Sable for $6000, AFTER bargaining with the dealer.

I can't wait to get a car. JT, my dad also wants a 65-66 Mustang, but since we can't afford one, I spent a week with him modifying his car. We sawed off the silencer cone, made a homemade Air-Intake System, and installed a K&N Performance Fileter. With a 24V DOHC, it runs pretty sweet.

Oh, and if anybody here lives in CA, check out this DMV link. You can choose the letters for a personalized plate and see if it's been taken. I recently learned the "Nerf" is still available.

And also, since 65-66 Mustangs are hard to come by, just wait until 2004-2005. Ford's new Mustang will greatly resemble the old sixties models with fastbacks and round headlights. I'll try to post a pic, but if it doesn't work, go to this link.

Why can't you understand?! This is my *first* car. I don't want something expensive or new incase I wreck it or something. All I need is something small cheap and that runs that I can drive to school which is a whole mile. I'm just sick of riding the bus in the afternoon cause it takes 30+ minutes when I only live 5 minutes from school. That's about all I'd use it for, maybe a trip around town, but my town isn't that big here. I don't want a 'newer' car. I can get a perfectly good car for 500 bucks here. There are always lots of ads, and no, there isn't *always* something wrong with them. Do you understand?

That wasn't all the ads either. God, why can't you guys just believe what I say? You don't live around here so you don't frickin know. We have a bulletin board paper that has probably 100+ ads for cars in it, same for the thrifty nickle. They're cheap *and* run well. I will scan one if you don't believe me.

Can't someone ban jon or something? He's a frickin retard.

We do believe that there are cars for that cheap. And atleast I believe that they'll run "well". For a week or two.

What he said.

Seeing as how you've grown angry enough to use the word "frickin", I think I'm going to bow out of this conversation now. Get your $300 car and let us know how it runs by next year. I for one am curious.

Yeah, I think this is a good solution all around. It will stop the endless but-you-don't-understaaaand cycle we've been in here. As a coder I tend to frown on endless loops and yet this one was strangely compelling.

Something about the sound of 'dringing' kept me from fixing the subject all this time.

My parents had a Buick Stationwagon that they got for 300 bucks and drove it for 5 years. They didn't have to do any 'extra' work to it and they sold it for 600. Look, you guys live in big cities right? Well I live in a small county with only two *real* cities in it. A few small towns and only 2 high schools. And the next county over isn't that big either. Cars go for cheap around here. Good cars too. Cheap cars where you are may be 'clunkers' but they all aren't around here. We have a good selection of cheap, non-dealer, good cars so don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about.

Move on.

Nobody here wants to debate this topic anymore.

Your posts are all exactly the same.

I live in a really small town...there's lots of ads...I don't need a nice car...just need it to drive to school a mile away...y'all don't understand...

Yeah.
