Did you just shorten the tubeing and made the stock barrel come out the front?

Dude, you need to put a NEW barrel on it not the stock one.

I don't know, I've heard from VACC that he tended to get better range with the stock barrel, and he extended it with something.

Well, He's talking about the big ranges witch is my reasoning behind a new barrel. I'm also talking about the use of micros, not megas.

i'm pretty sure that if VACC was getting those results, it would be with megas.

That's a good point. Living in NJ, I occasionally assume that everyone uses megas.

I could get arows to hit birds on my TV antenaa outside my house seriuosly for over 120ft max. But I would reccomend a barrel replacement at least 12" for micros, the tape around the circumference of the plunger and surgical tubing.

An X-Bow mod is harder than a SF, luke. I thing Raggy's is easier, but the X-Bow won't that decent w/o a spring replacement, and then you have to reinforce the shell and plunger shaft...

And that is the probloem. I've searched high and low but no one seems to have found a suitable industrial spring.

Like they said you need to do a barrel replacement, assuming your using stefan micros

Go to home depot w/ your spring, and look for less coils, that are stronger.

Rubber bands can also supplement the stock spring for nearly the same effect.

i have one crappy piece of odd-sized threaded brass. it doesnt fit darts well, its garbage. so i have that. that does`nt work for my SF. look airsoft. i`m nt going anywhere, and neither are you. i`m sorry fi your mad because the whole reason i have an extra splitfire is because i bought it for you and you backed out. so you of all people SHOULD NOT accuse me of lying on my post on which im trying to sell it because i don`t want it i never wanted it, i bought it for you and you backed out of my deal. that said. were both staying around. lets end this and never flame each other again. lets just get along and be friends :o

If 120ft isn't in the "big ranges" category for nerf, I must be playing a different game.

He never said he was getting 120' with his setup, and Ninjz was suggesting that he replaced the barrel so he WOULD get maybe around 120'. I think we're assuming that his current ranges are around 70'.

My current range is low. i just moved the barrel down and bungied. i`m not getting much range at all, however, i just ordered some brass to fix things up

It could be your darts, make sure they are tight enough to make a good seal with the barrel. When your brass comes in I suggest doing Rawray7's mod.

No son, he implied that I could not get big ranges with my setup (the original barrel). 120ft is the the greatest distance I've measured binky achieving.

Great point ompa! Ignore all the stuff you've seen about spring replacements, for with surgical tubing you can put enough tension so as you can bearly pull it back and eventually offset the cocking mechanism. Reinforcement really isn't anything more than vestigial, it doesn't hurt but I've never done it to mine.
