Hey all. I just figured out how to post images and I've been waiting to show you guys my pride and joy.
Posted Image

This is my first homemade, version three. It's distance maxes out at around 180' with 10 pumps shot level. If you load something heavier than a stefan, it can easily get arojnd 210' arced. You get about 80' with 4 or 5 pumps. This is my favorite primary and hurts like a bitch to get shot with. The silencer is just a piece of 1'' pvc. The stock and silencer are removable to make it alot smaller. The only problem is that the hose in the bike pump leaks but if you unscew the valve after pumping, it hold pressure for hours.
What do you guys think?

That's a nice looking homemade. It looks like a loser rifle and very comfortable to hold. I also like how you used part of a sm5k shell. Great job.

Hey, i was wondering if u have a general plan of your gun that you could post. I would like to see how it is made so i have a better idea of what I need to do to create my own homemade using a hose handle.

Yeah I've already had a couple of requests so I'll try to get the direction up this weekend. Sorry for the wait.

I notice that you have a aluminum(sp?) or some other kind of barrel. Does it make the gun that much heavyer? Also, what kind of valve are you using?

muwyse, I'm guessing it is around 30-40 psi since anything over that would be kind of an overkill.

Don't worry about the things you don't know. Do sheep expand in the rain? Who discovered how to get milk from cows? And what was he doing in the first place?

Yeah the barrel. It's not metal at all. I just found some of that silver tape stuff in my basement and thought what the heck. I don't really like it and will probably take it off soon. The barrel is really pvc conduit. The valve that you pump into it a tire valve and the trigger is a hose handle.

Thanks for the information. Im working on a design that delivers slightly more psi. I hoping for around 70 because i will be using an electric pump probably, unless i find a good hand pump to use, but i doubt a hand pump could deliver that psi.

I would also be interested in what pump you used because it would produce the distance i wanted also.

I used a really cheap 5 dollar bike pump. The handle is uncomfortable but it works fine. I don't know what brand it is or anything because it's wrapped in a ton of electrical tape. I'd recomend something better quality because the tubes that connect to the tank tend to burst on the cheaper ones.

i wouldn't try to go any higher than 30-40 PSI with a hand pump. first off, it tends to become very hard to pump, and also your goal of 70 psi would break the check valve on most hand pumps. instead of going to an electric pump to get 70 psi, why not just increase your tank volume and make sure you have a nice long barrel on the gun? besides, 70 psi is a waste of effort if you are using a hose sprayer as a valve...too much of the pressure will disperse to make going that high worth while. now, if you've got a solenoid valve, then 70+ is understandable because the valve is open for such a short amount of time, you aren't leaking a whole lot. regardless of whether you use a solenoid or a hose handle, i'd stay away from an electric pump. the homemade i created using one was too much of a hassle. i mean, i could shoot a double weighted dart over two or three houses with it, but it had the tendency to break things (i'm sure people would be included), and took too long to re-pressurizie. Given that you want to shoot people with this gun - i'd highly recommend sticking with human-generated pressure (ie, bike pump).

Ok thanks for the that stuff. I will probably stick with 30-40 psi considering there are some nice houses around where i live and it wouldn't be good to hit them.
