Ok, I got this baby new out of box. I need some help in what to mod. Ive researched only a little bit, and what ive found is that i should take out the little black things, and put bicycle hosing or something around the rubber air thingy majig(im really bad at these technical terms). I read in another post saying putting this stuff on could break the gun, and to use rubber bands or something. I have also heard that you should do something to the spring. I dont really want to do the removable clip cause i dont have a really big need for that. Could someone tell me what to do to get the best range and power and performance on the gun? Could you please include materials(maybe even where i could get them if your nice ^_^ ), links/directions, and ideas. THanx

Also, I am in a tourney that says you cannot put any lead bbs or anything harmful (coins, tacks, etc) in your darts. Right now my gun shoots maybe 15 feet. I need it to be able to shoot farther. I know it is an auto and it is not made for that, but is there anything i can do to mod the darts to shoot farther/better?

Please, i need some serious help. ANYTHING you can give me is worthwhile. \

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Confuseld :P

I am also having a little trouble with getting the casing off. I have Precision Screwdrivers ranging from .8mm to 3.8mm. Unfortunately they are not phillips. Where should i go to buy a screwdriver(s) that will get the mods done, and what sizes are they.

Thanks again.

Ok, I shall start the rampage...

Tarsier, it's an RF20. If you're not allowed to use stefans, you're probably going to end up getting 40-50ft. out of it, and a very, very unreliable gun. Stretching the piston spring is tough, and it didnt' work for me; aligning back into the case JUST right is a pain that I did not want to go through. The main things you can do are remove the air restrictors by taking apart the turret, cutting all the pegs out, and putting the rings back in and screwing the turret back together, and to rubber band/innertube the bladder. I'd just put a few rubber bands around it.

I'd strongly suggest you get a different gun for this type of game, and using sch40 pvc and stock micros you can get pretty good distance. I somehow get about 60ft. flat from my AT3k , and that's using the completely wrong barrels for the dart fit. You should be able to get almost everything needed at your local hardware store.

Oh, and don't double post, use the edit button.

Ok, so i rubber band the bladder in which spots? and what type of rubber bands?

I filled one of my darts with glue, and since i cant shoot them cause i cant take out the screws on the gun, i just did a throw test and i doubled the distance. Thank you for your post.

What size screwdrivers do i need?

Will i double my range my messing with the bladder/cutting out the air restrictors? Will it harm my gun?

Taking out air restrictors = no.
Messing with bladder = possibility.

If you want to weight your darts, just buy sonic micros and fill the little cap with hot glue, since apparently any metal weights are disallowed.

Thanx again for your reply. By the answer "No" do you mean its a waste of time for me to take them out, or they wont screw up my gun.

Whats the differnece between sonic micros and the purple tipped ones i have now, and where do i get them?

Also, Screwdriver sizes?

Rubber band Placement? Type of bands? thank you

Please respond

Taking out restrictors will not hurt. Put bands around the bladder to restrict the size expansion. Regular rubber bands.

Holy shit, 721 posts... What the crap is wrong with me?

Alright, that clip mod is mine, though its a bit unupdated, as..inner tubing the bladder on some, but not all rf20's will break the gun. I have tried rplacing the tubing with stronger vinal, it just wont hold. If anything, put a few bands around it. If you are using stefans, take out the black pegs, you should not be getting 40-50 feet, more like 30. This is not a gun you can use if its your first or one of your first guns your using. Its hard to use, hard to get used to, and takes some practice. its perfectly reliable...try using a different gun for a few rounds, than switch to that if you feel comfortable. Use it if you can aim, know how to arc your shots, and can sprint. Fast. Good luck man.

Lol, thanx for all those posts but i need some more help. First thing, i took out the air restrictors and threw em out. Second thing, I put 2 rubber bands on the air bladder, and just kept looping them around till they were tight. I put one near the end black thing, and the other i put closer to the front. After a couple tries i got it all back together. First thing, it doesnt shoot any farther. Second thing, it doesnt spin anymore. Sometimes it spins once and then doesnt spin anymore. other times it doesnt even spin. Whats wrong? Do i have to do that rubber band thing?

You might be screwed with the air restrictors unless you're real creative with hot glue/foam/other filler material. And you don't need the rubber bands on the end, you need them in the middle. Or all over the place.

As for spinning, either your piston is mis-aligned or the piston is pushing back/up before the clip can proceed to the next point. In that incidence, I have NO idea what you can do to fix that, it's what screwed my RF20 over. Ok, well it didn't screw it over, but I was just too lazy to find a solution to it.

Put the rubber bands in the middle, not at the sides. Put rubber bands around the external black piston, enough so it moves, but with more force. It should fix the rotation problem. Also, make sure the piston and the turret are correctly and securely alligned.

I might have put the turret in the wrong slots, cause my friend said he had to pull the turret back pretty hard to set it in their right, and then it worked. I will do that later. But i dont think the mod worked. I put in a dart where the air comes out and pumped it up all the way, and it just made a long squeeak sound. I think i should take some rubber bands off, cause i have 5 that are tightly looped around the middle. I also pumped it only half way and shot, but it didnt shoot much farther than before. I dont think the mods helped at all. Has anyone done these mods and seen significant improvement? Any suggestions
?

Thanx

Ok, my turret isnt in the wrong spot, and the rubber bands didnt work at turning the turret. should i put the black casing on? will that make the difference? i took about 3 rubber bands off, and ihave 3 left. Is this enough to make it shoot farther? Please help

Please avoid double posting Tarsier, next time I don't think members are going to be too accepting if you don't break that habit.

Take all the rubber bands off, and see if the piston still even works. If it doesnt, you've got some problems with the internals of the piston itself. The black casing shouldn't make a difference in whether it works or not.

If you threw out the air restricters then your gun isnt going to preform much better than stock, youo should have done more research and realised that, to keep the proper seal you needed to drill out the X's in the back of the turret. Also dont wrap the band too tightly round the bladder otherwise it'll be nearly impossible to pump (and you'll probably blow the bladder off its seal), and if you want the gun to actully fore wrap loads of rubber bands, or put a clamp round the gray square bit at the top of the gun (it has two screws and sits on top of the rotator).

Hope this helps, if it doesnt go here, and stop double posting.

The best mod you could do for it would be the clip mod.

I think its fine that he double posted, he bumped it back up, and if he hadnt, I would have overlooked it.

Hope this helps, if it doesnt go here, and stop double posting.

Why the hell do I even bother? Redoing someone elses mod exactly how they did it isnt cool.
