Okay well, I was just messing around with some new dart mods I was thinking up, and it hit me. After I had seen how a dowel rod shoots from the "First Shot" with more force than the darts do, I decided to make a dart using dowels.
First of all you have to cut off the orange nozzle at the tip of the gun, it comes off fairly easy. Then you have to get 3/16 wooden dowel rods. You then cut the dowels to length (about 6 1/2 inches) and then use any type of super glue to super glue the dowel to the inside of a micro (make sure you hold it straight!) After the glue dries insert the dowel into the gun, cock it, then push the dart down a little more.
The darts go further (about 10-15 feet) but loose accuracy after about 25 feet.

If you're looking for more distance from your darts on your First Shot gun, try out this mod.

After reading that 3 times, I still didn't understand what you were saying. Maybe you could post some pics?

Don't worry about the things you don't know. Do sheep expand in the rain? Who discovered how to get milk from cows? And what was he doing in the first place?

Try to think of it this way, Fren: Your blaster stores, then releases a set amount of energy. The more mass the projectile has, the more energy goes into making up for the mass, and less goes into the acceleration of the projectile. When the mass hits something, it will transfer more energy over a smaller amount of time, because this large mass also happens to be really stiff (wood/foam combo)* compared to the smaller mass (foam). This means that the larger mass goes a smaller distance, but really hurts on impact. Wouldn't you rather have a smaller mass that goes a longer distance, and doesn't hurt as much on impact? I know I would.
Good to see you experimenting with different materials, though. Optimum for a dart is light, with some degree of length for straight flight, and minimum surface area (though surface area is a good thing in our consideration of our targets' health). Best of luck with your future experiments!

* I know the dowel has foam on the tip, but compression is usually distributed across the length of the projectile in these cases, so if a lot of that length is wood, which doesn't compress too happily, the dart's going to hurt like pokey fire compared to a fully foam/rubber dart.

[Thanks Boltmaster. I didn't find it very hard to understand.]

Translation:
I found a cool dart mod that I want to tell you guys. I have tried to shoot dowels out of my First Shot and they work great! This gave me a great idea on how to modify the darts that came with the First Shot.
1. Cut off the orange tip of the barrel.
2. Get 3/16 wooden dowel rods.
3. You then cut the dowels to about 6 1/2 inches.
4. Use super glue to adhere the dowel to the inside hole of a micro dart.
5. After the glue dries insert the dowel into the gun's "barrel-post air delivery mechanism"
6. Cock it.
7 . Fire!

The darts should go about 10-15 feet further but lose accuracy after 25 feet.

This dowel method sounds pretty painful if you were to be on the receiving end.

As a strange aside, I noticed that this is the second post I have seen on these forums by someone with a Wallace avatar making one of their first posts about dart mods. At least this one is more creative than the last one.

Before I go rushing to Home Depot to pick up wooden dowels to replace my arsenal of stefans, it may help if you were to post more about the accuracy and distance measurements comparing the dowel dart to a regular stefan.

This kind of reminds me of the time we discovered that the little carrots fit into mega barrels, and a modded X-Bow had plenty of force to send em flying 50'

That hurt...
