Amps

Anyway, my birthday is nearing, and I believe I will be getting a new guitar amp. I just have one question: If an amplifier has a wattage of 2x30 watts, does that mean each speaker pumps out 30 watts, or that the amp actually produces 60? I can't seem to find anyone who knows. I'm looking at the one in the Behringer V-Tone line. Help would be appreciated.

Yup.does that mean each speaker pumps out 30 watts, or that the amp actually produces 60?
The amp is rated at 30 watts per channel, two channels. Therefore, assuming it has two speakers, they get 30 watts each.

Hehe, 60 watts, I have a 500 Watt and a 700 Watt amplifier in my dorm room to power my speakers and subs.

So basically it's as loud as a 60 watt amp right? I was never sure whether 2 speakers each producing 30 watts would be as loud as a single speaker producing 60. And although it may look like it, I'm not entirely infatuated with volume, this thing has a huge range of different sounds it can produce too. I'm just still not sure about that one fact. The amp is rated at 30 watts per channel, two channels. Therefore, assuming it has two speakers, they get 30 watts each.

All other things being equal, two speakers at 30w RMS will be the same volume as one speaker at 60w RMS.So basically it's as loud as a 60 watt amp right? I was never sure whether 2 speakers each producing 30 watts would be as loud as a single speaker producing 60.
The above assumes that all speakers are optimally boxed, all speakers are equally efficient, all speakers are being driven at the power level they were designed for, all speakers are the same size, and that all amps are actually producing the equivalent RMS power levels.
All these things don't happen very often in real life though so you should make your decision based on reviews or actually listening to the equipment yourself.
