I don't know if this is modification or off topic since I want to use it for modification but admin and mods feel free to move it if you like. Anyway I'm interested in buying a dremel and I was wondering what the best type is to get and what attachments I need or you've used and wheres the cheapest place to buy the dremel and attachments.

A Deremel with a cord, and some sanding bits and alot of cut-off wheels.

The Variable Speed MultiPro Kit is what I use and it's quite nice. Buy through that link and you get free shipping courtesy of Amazon and NerfHaven earns a few bucks. The kit comes with a couple of metal cutting/filing bits, a few sanding drums, and a bunch of cutting wheels.

NSF is right by the way, cordless dremels suck.

I bought the cordless, multi-speed, Li-Io Dremel, and so far I love it. Cant stand the ones with cords, especially since I use it for engraving on occasion.

I too bought a cordless Dremel, and it works fine. I don't do any heavy-duty stuff, so I don't need a lot of power.

Yeah last time i looked we were like $200 hundred bucks from braking even? Yeah I'll definately buy it through that link and save some cash on shipping. Also does that set come with a saw that I can cut squares in a piece of pvc with? (square hole for shells) you know. Just out of curiosity cxwq, about how much $$$ does it take to run this site for a month?, a year or however you calculate it. Just interested.

Whatever you do, do not buy a cordless dremel. They suck beyond all possible comprehension (still using NiMH batteries...bastards....)

Seirus, they've changed to LiIon batteries in some of the newer ones I believe, but they still don't have the power the corded models do. For some applications this is fine, but I wouldn't shell out that much cash for a dremel that didn't have all the power I could possibly get.

Cheese, Running NH costs approximately $120/year. I need to update our expenses and receipts and will update the current deficit counter in the store. It was actually more expensive the first year but last year I switched to a host that gives us more bandwidth and better reliability for less money.

We've made somewhere between $50 and $100 from CafePress and Amazon sales. I wanted to keep the CafePress items affordable for you guys so I only marked the items up $1 over base cost, $.50 for stickers. Thanks to everyone who buys NH merchandise and shops through our Amazon links!

One thinkg that is VERY nice for the dremel is that little cord thingy thats screws onto your top of your dremel, it makes it easier to work with. But make sure to have round sanders and plenty of saw cutter attachements.
