When buying do you think it is better for the money to be sent first? Or for the gun to be sent for the buyer to inspect? I've lost multiple trades over this, and I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

Money is always sent first, all other things being equal.

I generally ship first if I trust the person, that way I know exactly how much to charge them for postage.

Trades should always be sent at the same time. If its money, it should be handled like ebay, buyer sends money then you send the item. Sending the gun forst for inspection is lame because you SHOULD have been honest in describing the gun totally. If the person gets the item and then decides he doesnt want to spend the money you just wasted money on shipping.

Ive also got requests to send the gun first to see if they can mod it, and if they cant they would send it back. THAT, is total crap and I never trade in those circumstances. If they cant mod it because of their lack of skill or it doesnt get the results they wanted you get back a messed up gun and also wasted shipping.

Also depends on the destination. Lech ships internationally, but no-one ships back to us.
