This sucks the Ramones were such an influentuel band,They basically invented punk.

They invented relatively marketable punk I'd say. But I'm not music expert. As for John's passing, it's shame. I'm not even a fan of the genre at all but you know the impact he and the rest of them made. Maybe when Tommy leaves us his headstone might read...

"Punk is now, officially, dead."

Not like any of these new "punk" acts could hold a candle to the Ramones.

Mabey in being original, the ramones are better. I agree most punk bands today are crap, but their are some who are definately better music-wise than the ramones. I mean, their stuff was pretty simple and plain...They really only get my respect for being the O.Gs, other than that I dont really like their punk songs.
