[SIZE=7][COLOR=blue] This may seem like a very stupid thing to ask but is there any way to make a homemade and NOT have to use an air tank to shoot the damn thing. I dont feel like carrying around my backpack most of the time and lugging around that air tank will be a bitch. So if any of you ****ers out there can help me with this prediciment plz reply. Thnx. <_<

"Nerf" was previously being censored for some reason.

A basic homemade gun doesn't require an "air tank" like the one you picture in your mind. The pressurized air is stored in a few lengths of PVC that are cemented together. These air tanks (I will refer to them as "air holders" within this topic so you won't be as confused) are part of the gun's design. On a basic homemade, the air holder consists of the lengths of PVC that make up the two handles and there are also two lengths of PVC connected directly to the valve and pump.

I wish I could show you a nice site for homemades, but unfortunately, my temporary retirement from Nerf didn't do me much good, and the best site (Sniper5k's site) for a basic homemade design isn't there anymore.

Well, loser did have the coolness of flash going for him, so I guess we're missing that.

Yeah, air tanks: Usually, the air tank is built into the gun, as said, in a stock or handle or something. Unless you're dealing with really large volumes of pressure, for something like an automatic, you can just build it into the gun, very discreetly.

Also, if you need a lot of air, but have time to reload, think about removable air tanks. The simplest one you could get would be simply an Endcap, some PVC, Ball valve, and then a threaded adapter. This could just hook into the gun via the another threaded adapter (You'll need lube of some sort, and ergonomic handles for turning, like an "L" shape, are handy), then turn the ball valve to allow air into the gun's tank. You could also do something much more convenient with Brass and a homemade check valve, but I can't help you with that just yet.

If you could find some of those detachable water tanks that came with earlier Super Soakers (like that classic yellow one or the XP series) and could somehow creatively put, say, three of those on your gun, you'd have a decent amount of air available at all times. I have no way to vividly describe how you would do such a thing, but I can picture it in my head. I'm going to try something like this during the summer.
