Here it is, folks... As you can see it uses 17/32 brass shells with a 9/16 lip that fall into the breech, then the 9/16 barrel slides over the edge of the shell, catches on the lip, and pushes the back of the shell against an o-ring to create a perfect seal. (the pink thing is a rubber band that pulls the barrel backwards) For now, that is all, but the paint picture shows what's coming up next. To advance to the next shell, you rotate the barrel upside down, and pull out to drop the shell out of the bottom, then you rotate it back up and pull on it to drop the next shell in.

This is what I don't understand.
If the shell falls into the breech when the barrel is foward, how does it not fall right through, as you implied with the exit? Does the whole breech turn independantly from the brass barrel? If so, what to you rotate to turn it?, where is your grip? Understand what I mean?

Maybe there's like a half-piece of PVC on the barrel, you should get the idea from that... That's just my guess though. It'd work I'm assuming.

I've always thought "wouldn't it be cool to have a clip feed the darts through my gun?". I could never think of a design that would keep a seal and not let the clip fall straight through the gun. That's friggin awesome. I really hope that works for you.

i'm assuming that little white thing in this picture is something to help you rotate the apparatus to eject the shell. if it isn't, then it should be.

yeah, you rotate the entire apparatus. The white thing is indeed the hadle to rotate it, I'm working on a way to mkae the brass slide out and in automatically instead of having to pull it out, then it would be one smooth motion, but as it is it works fine.

Yeah, vassili, was that you who did something like that? I had seen a eab with a hole in it like that before.

UPDATE!!!

It's all over but the singing and dancing, folks! yes, that's right, it's finished!



The clip obviously isnt attached, but I've tested it and it cycles beautifully.

It gets a little better than standard range for a brassed eab because the clip system gave it the ablility to use a constricted brass barrel, which was nearly impossible before due to the length of the barrel inside the gun. I may shorten the barrel later, if needed.

Anybody up for a clip-fed, telecoped barrel, high-powered spring gun?

How well does it turn when there are multiple shells above the loaded one? I would guess the PVC would hit the next shell when you rotate it, but it might pop it up and spin under it. Have you tested it with multiple shells yet?

Edit: If it works great, it might be wise to mod x-bows with this setup.

Yeah, it cycles multiple shells fine. X-bows might not be as good for this setup just because of where the barrel starts on the x-bow as opposed to the eab. With the eab you have a lot of strucctural support because the mechanism is in the middle of the gun, and it has that super-wide orange barrel which is the exact right size to fit everything. Doing it on an x-bow would be possible, but a lot messier and more complicated, and need a lot more PVC of various sizes.

I'm wondering if you have any plans for retreiving the shells. It looks like they just fall out, which is fine, and I'd imagine they aren't hard to find, but I would still hate to loose 'em. Maybe you could make a little box or sack that would hang just next to and under the ejection port to catch the ejecting shells? Just thinking.

Anyways, great mod. Very nice idea, excellent execution.

Oh, one other question, why is the handle so long? Maybe it isn't bad with the clip on, but right now it looks kinda goofy, at least in pictures. I don't think you would even need it to be as long as the grips, you could make it super short like the bolt on a rifle and not grip it with your entire hand. Just my thoughts on perfecting an already truly righteous mod.

Fuse, i like your thinking. I was actually thinking the same thing about using something to catch the shells, right now you can actually close the handle and it kind of acts as a catcher, then when you open it it drops the shell. About the handle, I'm not sure if i'm gonna leave it or shorten it. Truth be told the only reason its that long was that was the size of cpvc i had lying around, so i used it.

Yeah, I did cut a breach like that, but it was just a simple "Unknown" breach with no clip, so you win.

Ahh, shoulda thought to look into the homemades for it. Thanks for the link.

Trust me, I know how to make stefans. I got that down to an art (tho I never did have access to a drill press).

A drill press allows you to drill a hole down the center and make sure it is perfectly straight.

You can also achieve a similar affect with a nail firmly inserted into a hot glue gun as well. It’s a bit quicker than using a press also cheaper too. Just be careful cause the nail is hot and make sure you don’t set it on a nice surface either.
