I have a modded maxshot. Today I was just shooting it and suddenly it wouldn't cock without holding it upside down. Any suggestions?

Try opening up and make sure none of the parts of the catch mechanism are cracked. Check Cx's mod on this site to see what the pieces SHOULD look like.

That happened to mine also. Damn, it was so long ago, I forget if I ever fixed it.

First I got rid of the fluff. The yellow dot in the picture is a piece of plastic I super glued in the trigger groove to keep the trigger from sliding back and disengaging the mechanism. After this small modification (and a similar change to the other half of the case) I was able to remove and discard the blue piece and spring seen above. *** If you do this, make sure your cocking lever is ALL THE WAY forward before firing or you might be brutally maimed by the lever smashing down on you as your gun disintegrates. ***

~Cx's Mshot mod writeup.

I did that, well, similar to that, but accomplishing the same thing. Either way, do this, I think it helps, also, reinforce the back of your mshot, if not the whole thing. Anyways, cocking upside down is in no way bad for the gun, it doesnt build up stress or anything. You get used to it, its really no big deal, but I can see why you would be pissed.

Remember, reinforce your mshot! Don't want an assplosion, or worse, it to suffer the fate that Rag's did...

Ahh the exact same thing happened to mine. Open it up, and you will see a small white piece that holds the plunger when it is pulled back, and when the gun is shot the trigger pushed this white piece down. This piece has a little spring that pushed it up allowing it to hold onto the plunger as it is pulled back. The spring on it probably broke. It happened to me so what i did was take a normal spring and put it under the white piece to hold it up.

(this might be confuesing because it is hard to explain)

Oh boy, that brings back memories of my max shot...
the plastic nub that holds the blue piece that straightens the plunger broke, so I replaced it with a screw that had the same diameter as the hole in the blue piece.I cocked the gun, and bam, a hugeass crack formed in the side where I put the screw. Then the cocking handle bottom broke. And the back of the gun.Saftey, plunger tube, plunger holders, plunger shaft... :nugget:
