Hello all, my apologies if this is redundant or in the wrong section, so please don't strike me with a switch, just let me know.

Erm, anyway, this is my first post, and I'm just trying to be able to post in the Trading forum (WTB a particular stock pistol; not a stock that is a pistol [hurr hurr hurr,]) so while digging around the fog in my brain for a halfway decent question, this thought was salvaged:

1) Do Heavily Modified/Hybrided/Cannibalized Nerf Blasters sell well on the forums or ebay? You know, stuff like Stravens, where you got multiple shells Frankensteined together.

2) And while I know prices fluctuate in time for all types of Hybrid Blasters, is there an average?

3) Have some Hybrid Blasters become less popular?

4) Is there any profit at all?/ When doing so, is it worth my time?

You don't need to create posts to get approved, you need to comment. I do not want a bunch of people making pointless posts so they can get into trading (not that your post is, just to clear that issue up).

They can, yeah. I've seen some really stupid stuff sell really well over the years (noob-black tacticool totally stock blasters that were obviously painted completely assembled). In fact, while a strayvan would probably sell, a simply painted stock blaster probably has a much higher ROI.

The answer to 2 and 3 is "no"; way too many variables because if you're an unknown modder/talent you're not going to get top dollar. If you're a secret genius and your work looks good to anybody you'll probably get more.

4) Is there any profit at all?/ When doing so, is it worth my time?

Yes and probably not, as outlined earlier paintjobs will have a higher ROI. Integrations require way more time and material investment, and I'd be surprised if an average integration with a paintjob exceeded the value of just a mass-market paintjob.

It might be possible to to earn "beer money" or make enough money to support your hobby , but don't expect to be able to quit your day job.

Cool, good to know. And thanks for the "fyi" on posting for noobs; and yes I feel ya about redundant posts, i used to frequent the Gundam Hobby forums often and there would be many redundant questions. I figured this place might be like video game forums where you need to meet a minium amount of posts or comments, so i figured I'd might as well make such a thing count.

Whoaaaaa... Just a paint job increases the price? (pontentially.) That's surprising.

I had a feeling that might be the case with uber upgrades, people often want to make sure they get the internals the way they want them, simply cause you never know the job the person did.

Do folks care/ =+$$$ if you've done an old fashsion Spring Stretch and flow restrictor removal? (standard proceedure.) I imagine there would be a very little increase... Or do folks really prefer to have the internals as stock as possible? (ie. too many variables with such a sub-topic.)

And yea, 'definitely not looking into beer money, but I like the cut of yer gib. You know, a little bit here and there helps. I HAVE been noticing that Longshots are going up in value dramatically on ebay, cause, lets face it, it's an ultra-modders' best friend. I find it ironic that the modern Nerf Blasters have totally devalued the original Blasters from the 90's; save for a few obvious ones: Crossbow, Ultimator to name a few. I remember when Arrowstorms were highly valued and the go-to-guy in the Nerf wars (ahhhhh, the memories.) 'Course, when the Big-Bad-Bow came out, it became a standard in my circle, we called 'em Bolt Rifles; LOUD too if using mini Darts~~~

Spring stretch and AR removal are frequently detrimental to modern blaster performance. We used to do those before AR's got improved (outside of using sealed-breeches) and springs weren't readily available.

I think it's mostly cosplayers who don't care about performance mods at all driving the paintjob market, but TBH I don't really know what's up. It'd be good to look into sellers to see what they're doing.

Cost-for-cost, you'd have a hard time making a longshot that can match a caliburn.
