This is a brainstorming threadfor ideas about how to make the titan safe. I four barreled mine, but I still need to find more brass before I get the final ranges. Well anyway, What do you think you could do to make the titan practical for a nerf war.

P.S. It isn't practical as it is right now, there's too much power.

Shorten the valve/air tank by about 1/2. Less pumping, less danger.

You could stick an air restrictor in the back of the barrel.Make a circle that fits inside, then put small holes inside.

Well, wouldn't accuracy be one of the most important things on a gun that doesn't have much rof?

That takes 25 pumps. Thats what people are trying to do. Hehe I for one want to keep it launching missles. Missles are fun, and I have no use for a long range weapon tha takes 25 pumps.

Has anyone tested it with mega stefans and PVC? Should reduce the range compared to micros but have great accuracy.

I don't own a Titan (yet) *pissed*, but here's a thought;

Has anyone experimented with the number of pumps? Is there a "threshold" of minimum pumps just to get the thing to fire? I've heard the range tests and all, but many of these are based on the maximum number of pumps (20-30 or thereabouts), and of course, with uber long barrels.

Cx is right. A short barrel makes sense for lowered velocity/ power, and a greater ROF. Accuracy? Honestly, how much difference can it really make, given Nerf war conditions (excepting "losers"/ camper wusses).

I have a 4" barrel I made for my son's Max Shot. Why? So that when we're warring in the yard, he doesn't shoot a hole in my side from 15-20 feet (the ideal range for my pistols). It still shoots 70 feet plus easily, and accuracy is not drastically affected (if it's windy, it doesn't matter if it's a 4" or a 11" barrel; accuracy is screwed anyway).

The more I think about it, it must be fun just to shoot the missle instead of trying to make a .50 Barrett out of the Titan. A missle out of a modified Titan.

I think the difference between 2 and 4 inches would kill the accuracy. However, the titan should have much faster air delivery than the maxshot. But, your barrel as long as the dart? Grinch, how did your 2 inch barrel perform?

To give it less power, why not just put a rotating barrel assembly from a SM1500 or an AT2K or something? It'll raise the RoF, and it'll reduce range because of air loss between the airtank and the barrel.

Very large diameter pump tube. You won't be able to get it up to as high a pressure, and it will take far fewer pumps.

You could use a larger diameter of brass for the barrel and replace the air tank so darts can be loaded quickly and will fire with less range.

Or, just use the Titan as a showgun to impress people. Or, use it as a shotgun. Stuff like 20 short darts down the barrel and launch away.

i dont understand why you cant just put 3 or 4 pumps into the titan ? quicker prime time and safer velocity. why do we have to mess with it so its max potential is lowered. just use it at half the pumps, at half its potential during game play.

second thought... i forgot the purpose of this post, I would say put air restrictors at the breech.

Ok, this may sound kinda dumb, but why not just leave in one of the factory made air restrictors instead of adding a new one? IE, just cut off the air restrictor at the end of the barrel section and leave in the one that is at the end of the screw on part. Would that provide sufficient air restriction to lower it down, yet still have a powerful gun that could get excellent ranges/accuracy? The other option could be to just use megadart or megastephans and pvc, which might give it better accuracy with less range (though, seeing as how we are trying to reduce power on it, i don't know if this would actually decrease the power any...). I'm sure most of you veterans might have better ideas though, so I guess we'll see what might be best for it.

You know, this thing is sounding more and more like the old Triple Strike.

The whole missile concept, and then discussion of shotgunning it with multiple micro's in the barrel.

I quite obviously don't own any N-Strike gun, but brian's concept of leaving one air restrictor in is rather simple and seems effective. But i'm only guessing here.

My titan has 4 barrels. I singled my ratchetblaster and used the barrels off that.

mod the barrel to fire nerf arrows instead of modding it to fire megas or micros. The ammo is more available, and won't have the velocity of darts.

why not just mod it to shoot homemade arrows, or even small rodents.
