Upgraded  Desolator with Fang revamped motors and Worker (white) wheels in the stock cage.  50% of stock nerf darts are whirly birds.  I have one Accustrike dart and that flies ok.  Also seems to be chewing up the darts.  Fyi, I added the same Worker wheels on two other blasters running Meshel 2.0 motors, stock cage and no no whirly birds and no dart damage.  Looking for feedback from the experts.  Thanks!

Im no expert, but have you checked for any possible impurities on the flywheels? Or that they could be crooked? Just some thoughts.

From this I'm going to assume that when you say "stock nerf darts" you mean elites? Those are junk and the source of your whirlbirds. Accustrikes will be much better, as you've already noticed.

Also seems to be chewing up the darts.

Those workers are serrated, right? That happens with toothy wheels. Darts become an expendable resource. In the future, stick to smooth. You may lose some FPS with all other variables held constant, but it's worth it in terms of dart survivability.

I have the same serrated workrr wheels in a stryfe a modulus builds, stock cages with michel 2.0 motors. Elites fly straight and no wear. I think the stock Desolator cage might be smaller. The wars I attend have a supply of acufakes so i'll use them to test. Thanks!

Whirlybirds are most likely from too high of fps for elite darts. Pretty much all darts (accustrike, koosh, waffle etc) are better than elites. Especially at higher fps. My favorite darts for my stryfe with white worker flywheels are the Zuru Xshot darts with the little foam dome taken off the tip leaving just the flat rubber tip.

Could you take a picture down the barrel? Might help with better troubleshooting.

While elite darts are pretty bad, I don't recall having that many whirlybirds when using them. I suspect that the wheels may be misaligned (too far down the shaft, not far down enough, not equally far down the shaft).

I'll check. But, I don't think I could ever adjust the flywheels, too damn tight! Since I orinally posted I have noticed less problems. I just added a full auto kit so I'll try again tonight. Thanks!
