So I am looking for a scar barrel for my longshot and after looking at multiple sites I have settled on the BlasterTECH mk2. My question is; is there a distributor in the states and is there anybody with experience buying rifled muzzle devices that can tell me their opinion on the current options- monkeymods blasterforge non stringed, jetx zro, jspb zlin, BlasterTECH mk 1 and 2, and any others I might have missed.
Thanks!

I do not know much about the different offerings, but what I do know is that the SCAR stringed barrel setup works. I hear 6-string is better than 4, you also want something you can adjust for your darts. Slug has one for the Caliburn, and a non-stringed one that he says also works but is not as broadly compatible with all the various dart types. He also said that waffle-head darts are basically unaffected by the setup (already have good accuracy).

We largely believe that the way it works is not because of a typical rifling effect (spinning the dart =/= accuracy), but because it is a simple way to effectively vent excess air evenly around the dart. Several more experienced barrel makers report that they can match SCAR-accuracy with no device, but that requires more knowhow than the SCAR.

Waffle tips are LESS affected because they're really heavy.

The SCAR barrel is primarily compensating for not having a completely ideal barrel length for a given dart. But ideal length is a kind of nebulous thing that has a lot of variables, so having something you can adjust slightly is beneficial.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

I only have access to stock elite darts currently which is why Im looking into a scar barrel. I know waffle tips and accufakes are the best full-length but I havent bought any yet because Im not sure if they work well in sealed brass breaches

Well Elithenerficorn, the only way you're going to find out which darts work best for you is to buy some and try it for yourself. Depending on your blaster and its idiosyncrasies, and its owner and his idiosyncrasies, you're going to find some darts work better than others.

Consequently, some AccuFakes work way better than others. Buy a few. Do a few tests. Let us know.
