I just thrifted a Nitron yesterday and fixesd a few issues with it. I love the ergonomics and want to eventually mod it. Anyways, after fixings some issues, I tried to run some third party discs through it, and it either jammed or didn't fire. I only have access to third party discs due to nerf brand being discontinued and expensive, so I don't know if it's an issue with the discs or the blaster. When I use the non nerf discs and pull the trigger, I hear a short electronic sound, and then it either jams, or doesn't even move a disc into the flywheel. Has anyone had issues with non nerf brand discs with a nitron, and is there any way to mod it to fire them?

Been using 3rd party disks in my Nitron, Vigilon and Praxis. The only prob I've had is that about 1/3 of the discs do a wobbly no power launch out of the Praxis.  That doesn't happen with the other two or when I'm using actual Vortex Disks.    I can't say for sure without actually seeing the discs so I can't tell you if they are the cause of your problems or not.  I am going to ask a potentially insulting question but you are allowing the flywheel's to rev up first right? I'm not trying to insult your intelligence but when I was working in tech support the first question we learned to ask was "are you sure that the device is plugged in and the switch is in the on position".

Yep. I'm letting it rev up all the way before firing. Here's a pic of the discs I'm using. I'm thinking it may be due to the flat bottoms they have.

Okay, looks the same as the one's I have in size and shape.  That's it compared to an AA battery for scale. If so, then it's probably either the motor or the batteries. I can't think of anything else unless there's something inside that's blocking the disk.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I just tinkered around with it for a bit and I think I am getting close to the issue. I think the lock that prevents the blaster from shooting if there is no disc in the mag is the problem. I think the discs aren't deactivating this lock, making the blaster think it's not loaded, therefore not firing. Do you think this could be causing the issue?

Oh for...! You're right the ammo lock might be the problem I haven't had mine long enough to start modding it yet but from what I've heard, it's  a one flywheel system and you should be able to rewire it for more voltage.  Sorry I didn't reply sooner but I can only post 2 messages a day right now. :(
