Quick question: With a stock drain blaster still containing it's OPRV (assuming as good an air seal as possible), a 12" long 1/2" PVC or 17/32" brass barrel and a single 1. Stock dart and 2. Cut-down stock dart, what's the highest FPS you could potentially get out of it up to, say, 25 pumps?

 

Unfortunately my drain blaster isn't functional at the moment and circumstances prevent me from repairing it, so I have to ask it here.

 

And yes, I realize it'd be "stupidly powerful and you should never bring this to a war"; of course I'd never bring a singled drain blaster to a war. The question here is "how much power could you get out of doing X", not "how much power should you get out of doing X".

A foot long barrel is far too short for a drain blaster. You could easily get it over 400fps with a long enough barrel.

I don't believe that drain blasters have an OPRV, at least none of the ones I've seen do. Barrel lengths for drain blasters can be up to 4 feet, I use a 4 foot PETG barrel on my blue cobra and that seems to get optimal results.

I've had a friend test his janky drain blaster with a 20" barrel (tight fitting) and 25 pumps with an ACC gen2 hard tip stefan and it broke 475FPS so im guessing that thats probably around what you'd get out of a slightly shorter barrel and lighter darts such as cut down elites.

Hello, idiot here, why would a longer barrel yield higher FPS? Wouldn't the drag just slow it down?

Similar to real steel firearms, a longer barrel allows more pressure to build up behind the projectile. A drain blaster has enough volume and can hold enough pressure that it can utilize longer barrels than most nerf blasters. Note that "barrel" here does not refer to the faux barrels on Hasbro parts like Retaliator handguards or Longshot Front Guns. In that case, you would be right. Longer faux barrels add drag/resistance that slows darts down.
