The middle section is a version of the Zero pull-valve. The handle is not part of the tank, and therefore could be shaped into anything, even a stock.

I think the airtank will be very sufficient, as I plan to pump it up to a high PSI. I might even want a longer barrel if enough pressure is built up.
What do you think?

Ew Ew Ew...ummm i forgot...oh!!! Try making the rod for the trigger/ valve longer so that you can store air in the handle by caping off the tube and making more holes in the back.

Edit...wait that wouldn't work. sorry.

I think the airtank is a fine size, anything bigger would be overkill. But what was ew ew ew for? I don't understand. Is it the design of the gun? I can change that if you think it doesn't look nice.

that is a wonderful design, I only have one quam:
you'd need an external pump to hookup to the nipple, yes?
This would make for awkward re-priming. Also one could easily hookup a brass or petg'd AT2k barrel assembly to the front of such a homemade...
well done drawing by the way, very clear.

*EDIT: I went to TRU a short qhile ago and bought the smallest super soaker pistols I could find, and removed their pumps, they are quite small, and I could totally see one fitting INSIDE of your PVC handel with a peice of tubing to the nipple, then having you pump from the bottom.

You are right Shortshit, that is a problem. Most pistols have to have quick ROF to make them worth it, and an external pump is not good for quick shots.

I think I will just use a high pressure mini bike pump with the nylon tubing it comes with. The ends of the tubing have threads, female on one end, male on the other. The female end screws onto the tire valve, and the male end goes into the bike pump. That way I can mount the pump somewhere on the frame of the gun.

Edit: Actually I think I may use a coupler right after the Zero valve. That way, I could try different barrel setups (including a turret) with not much difficulty.

*i just tested my small pistol pump and it finds just dandily into 3/4pvc and could easily function as a handle/pump combo, definetly something to consider. You'd just need to use a section of 3/4th pvc with a 'T' coupler reducing to 1/2" (which they do sell) to get it to connect to the rest of the case.

*edit: a couple is a good idea, allows for ANY type of barrel to be used.

What super soaker was it? That would work perfectly for this design, as long as the gun wasn't expensive. I will look into it, or other similar spare pumps I might have. Thanks!

Edit: Thanks for the PM. I will try to hit the stores shortly.

Forget the EWEWEW....but you can replace the handle with a bike punmp. One of those 6 buck ones from wal-mart. EaSy.

I think you could get a mini pump and put it in the handle. You can just rerout air into the firing chamber with 1/4" vinyl tubing. So far it is working for me. (The use of tubing that is.)

What about the bike pumps that use co2 cartridges instead? Those would make for some quick shots.

Yeah, but then there is the problem of designing a more effecient trigger, or else you get about 4 shots per cartridge.

Don't worry about the things you don't know. Do sheep expand in the rain? Who discovered how to get milk from cows? And what was he doing in the first place?

The easiest co2 nerf gun i have is an old co2 bb gun that was givin to me broken. I fixed it and put some .177 to half inch reduce and brass in it and it gets 100 feet with perfect accuracy since i have a laser light and scope on it. I did all that with abour 30 dollars. I think it gets about 145 feet but with like 50% accuracy.

Hey vintage, I've already made a homemade like this one, except is based off of a Steyr TMP. I can get a picture up if you want within a day. Also, it has an onboard little supersoaker pump and detachable barrel for fast reload.

I didn't want to hijack this topic, so I made a new topic on it.

Tell us how your pistol performs vintage, I'm eager to see your ranges because I know mine could be improved on a lot in the range department.
