So i just got a firestrike and immediately wanted to change the cheap laser to a standard led. I know a bunch of people go this route, but I thought to myself how can I make it a little brighter and better, Then I found this flashlight laying around the house that didn't work.20170411_185826.jpg
Now this is a mini maglite flashlight but I only need one thing which is the reflector bowl (which can also be found on ebay)

Now the reflecfor bowl has these fins and a lip on so I used my rotary tool with sanding drum and sanded down the fins and lip util they were flush

Then I used a 5mm led and drilled the out the reflector bowl to the same size as the led to hold it in

I then cut off the old red led and wired the new one in its place. Then I took the plastic cover off the light housing and fed the led through the housing, then put the reflector bowl back on and dropped it back in the housing and closed up the blaster

And here it is. What i like about it is that it fits right in and esentially looks factory but it also does a really good job of lighting up a room w/o blinding others.

Cool, but is this a mod guide or just a mod, because if it's the latter of the two, you should post in the directory specific to mods. If it's a guide, then you should list where you got the stuff, or how to replecate the mod.

Also, nice mod either way, I would recommend brassing the barrel and maybe using a polishing tool to make the bowl more reflective.
