What was the first known homemade?

By the title I mean the first war practical homemade. I was looking at the topic of the first nerf mod when this came to my mind, I would imagine it would be somewhat similar to a bow and arrow. I have not dabbled into the history of homemade to much,the oldest I know of is the FAR from 2005.

There are plenty from before that period. Just in our homemades directory there are some from 2003, though most lack functional pictures at this point.

All the early homemade discussion was at NerfHQ, not here. So all of that information is largely lost.
Zero made some of the first war-usable homemades, but everything at that time was typically air-powered and it was pretty rare that their use was allowed. The SNAP series is pretty much the genesis of allowing homemades at Nerf Wars.
