Dear NH,

I have been looking for some time now trying to find a buy link or store that sells the poly carb tube used as a plungertube for closed (flush) shelled 1995 crossbows. Also a link to a o ring or skirt seal used for that tubing would be appreciated aswell.

Thanks,
Silly.

If you don't want to shave down all of the internal ribs and such, you will want something like these: 8585K205 9245K41

Thanks! By any chance do you have a link for a skirt seal for those? (Plunger head/seal)

Draconis, does a plunger tube made with those tubes need plates to position it?

Silly, I'm using 1-1/4" OD, 1-1/8" ID polycarbonate tubing. I had purchased it from McMaster last spring, thinking I could use it for a tornadobow, but I got stymied by my polycarb being hard to cut and not having a way to machine internals. I'm circumventing this problem with my school's bank of 3d printers and new laser cutter.

Big, somewhat related question: Will glues like Devcon® secure a tube of polycarb that's running through 3 1/4"-thick sheets of Delrin®? Or, will I need to cut the hole smaller and press-fit it?

Honestly, it has been so long since I had one open, I don't remember for sure.  It would certainly be advantageous for extra strength.

Pretty sure you've asked this question before, and the answer is still: Nothing glues Delrin to anything else (not very well, anyway). Use pins and/or screws, or else don't use Delrin.

And I think I've cut polycarbonate tubing with a hacksaw before, but it's been a while so I could be wrong...it would have been a smaller diameter, so I may have used a pipe cutter (like http://www.plumbersc...FUpMDQodW-sDSQ)

Well, that's great. Looks like I'll have to wait for a printer to be available at school, and stick my order in there. At least the reinforcement pieces won't need any rafting. And, I can print up a set of plunger tube spacers for my TBow while I'm at it.

Now, I need to figure out what to do with the slab of 1/4" thick Delrin I bought last month. And, the chunks of 1/4" Polycarb I've got sitting around.

Not sure if you were looking for confirmation of that part, but I just found this: http://nerfhaven.com...-new-internals/

He used 9562K44 and a couple of fender washers to make a new plunger head, and he was using a 1 1/4 od 1 1/8 id polycarbonate plunger tube.

Actually that's where I found the part in the first place. I plan to make a easy guide that's up to date for a crossbow mod. All of the ones in the mod directory are 2 or 3+ years old.

I haven't seen you make a guide yet on the Crossbow mod. What gives?

Haven't make it yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I want to make sure my homemade internal making skills are good enough before I make any guides.

Nah, just post it even if it's garbage.

But garbage is garbage. Also lack of funding and materials during a global pandemic and economic recession play a large part in not making anything right now.

Was wondering if anyone still makes a an internal kit. Kind of feel like just getting to the paint.

I am currently working (slowly) on a kit with some printed parts in it, but I do not plan to sell it. Just going to chuck it on thingiverse when it's done, and put up links to the places I purchase hardware.

One thing I've been working on recently is printing out custom TPU skirt seals. If anyone wants to try one out, I can send them one sized for their specific plunger tube. I'm curious to see how well they hold up.
