Open it up and pump it. Hold you fingers over the air tank/ valve to find the leak. If you find it, epoxy it and let it dry over night. If you can't find the leak, it might in the pump or line that carries the air to the air tank/ valve.

If you haven't modded the set you could just return it, and get a new one.

I just wondered if epoxy holds leaks under high pressure, since I'm dealing with a related problem. Would it just sort of break apart when pumped up, or is it strong enough to hold under pressure an air tank usually experiences? I will probably just have to use good old trial and error.

Plumbers goop doesn't work for me. It exspands into a bubble and pops. I fixed a leak on a SM1500 and the seal held with epoxy.

Mmm, Epoxy is more for strength. I would try Plumbers goop/hot glue. One problem that I had before is that I was using cheap glue. Make sure you use "Industrial" Hot glue.

I could hole a seal with hot glue though.

The epoxy worked like a charm. I can pump the tank up 50 pumps with no ill effect! This is not a hornet though, just so you know.

Ironman, let the plumber's goop dry for 24-48 hours before you use it.I know for one thing Plumber;s goop is a lot better, on my at3k airtank which I opened up, epoxy cracked and leaked, while Plumbers goop holds the 2 halves together perfectly.

dude, they'll give you a new one if you send it back, and i'm guessing, based on the fact that you didn't know what to do to fix it, you stand a good chance of fucking it up if you try to fix it.
learn some patience.

Well there's your problem.Plumbers goop takes an incredibly long time to cure, but once it does, it's solid as a rock.

And I'd reccomend you return it, unless you're mising items...

I didn't want to revive this old topic, but I think I may have discovered something about the N-Strike. I recently purchased the N-Strike at my local TRU and was disappointed when my hornet didn't hold any air pressure. I promptly returned and exchanged it for another one. When I got home, I looked at the back of the box and noticed that the box art was different. Unfortuantely, I can't remember what was on the back, but there was definately not a picture of "nerf warriors" holding the nerf guns in the middle:

So NerfMonkey, can you remember what the back of your box looked like? Or if you still have it check. So if your gonna by an N-Strike and the back of the box does not look like the one shown above, it might have a defective hornet in it.

This is kind of a related problem. But my rf20 pumps and seems like its holding the air (i can't find any obvious leaks), then when i go to shoot i only get off like 4 or 5 weak shots. Any ideas?

I once saw an old lady slip and fall on a sidewalk and i laughed. Then i thought, what if i was an ant and she fell on me. Then it didn't seem quite so funny.

Um, vblast, wtf? You have a topic on this and you have answers on how to fix it in there.

And it's not really a related problem, either.

They both use compressed air!!11!!

Actually, I think they ALL have those nerf warriors on the back. Mine was slightly defective, and mine had those warriors on the back.
