Would earplugs be possible Stefan material? I know some places have earplugs pretty cheap, and if the barrel fit was right, would they get better ranges and have better durability due to the more dense foam?

No, because of where the center of gravity is located. You'd have to add a bunch of weight to the tip.

That is why I said Stefan material, and not just stefans. I actually began testing and was able to get about 40 ft shots without any weighting, so theres hope. I just need to find a way to weight them.

I think it's worth looking into. I think potential issues you'll have to figure out is pricing, availability and consistency of the ear plug's diameter.

Keep in mind that I think the foam blanks most people use for slugs/stefans only costs a few cents (for the raw material only), so unless you can get the earplugs for under 8 cents per pair, I doubt this is something most people will be able to afford to use, at least when compared to slugs/stefans.

I don't know about eight cents a pair, but just a quick amazon search gets you eight cents a plug:

https://www.amazon.c...s=bulk earplugs

If it turns out they offer some kind of benefit in durability/accuracy/barrel fit or something, that's not too awful. Of course you also have to consider the cost of whatever you use for weight, so it might end up being a bad deal anyway. Maybe a decent idea for someone who just hates cutting their own foam?

most foam ear plugs have a waxy coating on the outside to prevent all the nastiness in your ears from soaking in, this coating ends up a little sticky after awhile of being handled and exposed to elements and moisture which is why they're made to be disposable. after a day of nerfing and being handled and shot they'd very likely get stuck in your barrels almost every time.

Being over priced, disposable, and overall more effort, whats the point of making what you're proposing as compared to slugs?
