Hey I'm fairly new to nerf, 1 month, but find the mods very interesting and find myself researching all the time. Anyways, I've done a full Stryfe gut job with honey badgers, 2s lipo, voltmeter, paint, etc. and a Modulus ECS-10 with rhinos and a 3s. I'm tackling a rapidstrike next and kinda want to go all out on it. I'm going with Hellcats with a HB pusher and a graphene 3s and going to try and control rate of fire with a pwm. I ordered a couple of the red artifact flywheel cages and a couple sets of those blue alloy flywheels with the diagonal grips. Basically my question is, has anyone run those new flywheels and what is your impressions on them?

According to Toruk's data, the artifact red cage and the smooth flywheels are the premium cage. Nothing compares to their "dart crunch" ability and vibration control.

180 sized motors are certainly the best way to use the cage – Toruk recorded ~150 feet per second with his 3240 motors (essentially the 180 "blades" which the hellcats were modeled off of) and the artifact black plastic smooth flywheels. Stock cages and even the aluminum Dr. Snikkas cages tended to top out at ~130 fps with 180 sized motors.

The newer metal flywheels (to my knowledge) do not have much (any) data recorded on them in use. They appear to be heavier, but also are probably better balanced and might have better "dart crunch" abilities. The serrated versions also appear kind of sketchy as Worker's just kinda shred darts for a minimal gain. The metal flywheels also have hex screws that you tighten to secure to the motor shaft. I would maybe consider gluing those suckers down. Don't want shit flying around inside your cage with the wheels are spinning.

If anyone wants to correct me here, I'm interested in what's the deal with these things.

Myvenom, I am quite interested in what you discover with them. Please keep us posted!

Good call on gluing the screws down. I really don't want to wreck anything. I was hoping to hit 130+ fps so I appreciate the info. I'm waiting on a huge order from Taobao and the 180 cover from the U.K. so I'm just painting the blaster now and will probably play with my wiring while I wait. I'll post once I get the order and get it assembled. I might even have to buy a chrono to see what's safe to shoot the wife with lol.
