Yes. All it really does is change the spring rest position, allowing the spring to compress more completely. In the sense of performance, this is a good thing, and increases the plunger pressure, allowing the darts to accelerate more quickly. In the sense of blaster longevity, though, this is a bad thing. The normal working range for a spring is from 10%-90% compression, and more than that can cause permanent weakening of the spring.
