this is honest feedback. why should i give you my time and energy... or hell money if you Illegally threaten to shut down a service of mine?

If you do, Nerfhaven will complain to whatever company provides your internet stating that you are harassing them and that they would like your provider to take action to stop you from harrasing them. Simple.

 

In general, the moderators are fair and understanding, so if you aren't here to cause a problem, there won't be a problem.

Remzak mostly has it right but I'm going to offer some additional clarity. Your ISP has terms of service, which stipulates that if you act in a way that violates their terms of service, they can cease to provide you with their service. Here are some things that ISPs say they can suspend your service for doing:

• Send spam or bulk email
• Send viruses/malware/etc. to other users
• Engage in illegal activity
• Transmit content that violates copyright law (basically, pirating)

If one violates a term of their service provider on this forum, it's within the rights of the administrators to tell one's ISP and let them do what they will with that information.

We aren't going to shut down your IP. If you engage in any of the activity stated above, you are in violation of your ISP's terms of service and all we do is report you. Then your ISP will shut you down. Sometimes in the past admins have had to do it because trolls will keep making new accounts and it becomes impossible to stop them any other way aside from blocking new registrations altogether, which stops all legitimate people from joining as well. The rules here are perfectly reasonable; this site is an information resource first and a gathering place second. If you prefer a more personal approach the Facebook groups are great for that.

OK, now just one second here, none of those have to do with any of the rules on the forum. I understand and comply with the rules here and as well as my ISP, and i'm not breaking any laws... I aslo feel its a D*ck move to just go crying to someone's ISP for trollers... seems a bit extreme, whatever.

What rights? You have freedom of speech, sure, but you aren't free from consequences of that speech. If you're doing something that breaks the rules here, then you're subject to what happens when you break the rules. By joining this forum and posting, you're agreeing to these rules that have been placed before you and you agree to take responsibility for your actions. You're also agreeing to allow NH and it's admins/mods/staff to take the actions listed because you're agreeing to post here after reading the rules. 

 

Don't complain about something that you've agreed to by reading the rules then continuing to post here.

Honestly what is the problem? I don't really understand the current situation, it's smart you go through the rules, and read everything but it's made more serious than it's ought to be, but you're asking about this rule, its like you're going to troll. It's the internet, it's an open space and this is put out so if anyone's a troll or just trying to do a ton of spamming, NH can go retrieve ISP and inform them of a violation. That's not saying it will shut it down, but it might.

Basically, you're making a dumb impression of your self with "I hope Nerfhaven gets shut down or DDOSed again" and than "how is NH going to shut down my internet" 
I don't know how old you are, but I made it on this site when I was 12 (>inb4 I'm banned because I'm actually 7) but guidelines exist so people don't tread water to be a dumbass (It has happened, this is a hobby that interests 6 years olds and older, and is open to trolls) and than the other measures are a pre emptive warning. In fact, all sites I think can do that if they want to. 
Why are you talking about all things non nerf? You've made 3 posts and gotten a shit impression of yourself, and you haven't even begun to talk about anything. At least contribute nerf content, idgaf if it's a paintjob or AR removal but at least don't make this a waste of time.

Spamming is covered by most terms of service, and generally harassment is as well. Notice that it doesn't say that if you break the rules of the forum, you get reported to your ISP.

 

You're right, your rights don't end where our feelings begin. But this is a privately run organization and you agreed to our code of conduct when you signed up (and your continuing membership is therefore contingent on that), and historically the people who run this forum do not care about feelings.

This is an interesting situation. On the one hand, it is nice to see a kid worried about what problems his or her actions might cause. On the other, you seem to have mistaken us for the enemy... Which we are not. Why don't you read some articles, ask some questions, and participate, before passing judgement. We don't want to have problems, so we have rules in order to minimize conflict. You just need to understand that you are asking this group to enter our space, and to hear your voice. That request comes with the promise that you will follow the group's rules. This is how civilized society works.

Wow, I'm an IT professional by trade with over 18 yrs experience(yes I am an old head). I have run forums and joined forums.. This kid would have been blacklisted already. Rules are quite simple, don't be a d1ck or troll and life is good.. not sure why you are trying to start needless drama..

 

now odds are your ISP wont disconnect service for "trolling" as they have bigger things to worry about but this is a friendly site for people who love the sport.If one or more rule does not sit well with you, you can always feel free to unsubscribe.
