I think this is a pretty good solution! 

 

It took a few attempts to get the measurements right, but it's doing ok now! I've since made another prototype which feeds more smoothly

Cool idea, though it could certainly use some polishing. If you moved the entire unit forward and make the shells feed vertically, would it be possible to have them just fall right in to where they load, or am I overlooking something?

 

I made this horrible picture (https://gyazo.com/5c...42c1cbd65ca053f). If you can sorta see it holds the shells upright above where they would fall in, then when you open the gun they fall into the hole. I have absolutely no idea if this is even possible, but it would be pretty cool.
