Hello all,

This is my first post here, please be nice ;)

Today I bought the Recon MKII.

When I tried to attach the barrel extension, it wouldn't fit.

I can slide it on the barrrel and turn it, but not all the way, so it won't lock in to place.

There's only one way to slide it on the barrel, so I  can't be doing that wrong.

I think.

I tried it gently, I tried using force, but it just won't turn any further.

Maybe this is a known issue with this gun ? Or, perhaps more likely, am I doing something wrong ?

I searched with google to find a solution and I searched this forum, but I didn't find  an answer.

So; can anyone here help me with this ?

I will include some pictures for clarity.

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Greetings,

An00bis (Roy)

Just checking real quick now.

Thank you both for your replies, I  really appreciate you taking the time to try and help me out.

I'll post the pictures here tonight.

@ Draconis: I'm not sure what the "end connectors" are.

Are those the orange parts where you slide the extension over the short barrel, with the gaps that (should) fit if you turn it and lock into place ?

@ AnOoB: I'm also not sure what a "lemon" is. Does it mean it is somehow faulty because of e.g. a manufacturing error ?

(btw: cool name, are we related ?? lol )

Sorry, maybe these are stupid questions. I chose the name An00bis for good reason ;)

Yeah that's definitely a lemon, if I were you I'd try to return or exchange it.

Thank you as well, The2ndBluesBro & Wisecrack !

Don't they test these things in the factory ? Is Nerf known for these types of clusterfu mistakes ?

I mean, for around € 40,-- I expect at least some form of quality control.

I bought the gun in Antwerp (Belgium), I don't go there regularly (I'm in the Netherlands myself).

So, do you know some way to fix it myself ? If I'd be able to fix it, it would save me a trip to Antwerp.

Or; does Nerf customer service  offfer service for problems like this ?

As requested by Draconis, I'll post the pictures of what ( I think) are the connectors.

I hope these are the things you wanted to see,.

)I´ll be back here tomorow to check in.

Thanks a lot !

Hey! Een Nederlander? Ben jij misschien Thijs, Teun, Eric of jay? *EDIT: Ik zie dat je roy heet, ik let ook niet op.* Zo niet, dan heb ik weer een niewe Nederlandse NERFer om aan mijn verzameling toe te voegen. (Grapje natuurlijk)

In english: hey, someon from the Netherlands? Are you (couple of names)? If not, then i have a new dutch NERFer to add to my collection. (Just kidding)

Edit: i dont know why i wrote it in Dutch first, i think i did because of the surprise that i found another Dutch NERFer.

Haha, grappig: niet alleen ligt onze naam keuze dicht bij elkaar...maar zijn we allebei ook nog eens Nederlanders. Typisch ;)

(Ik zit in West Brabant trouwens)

(apologies to the non-Dutch people here, I'll stick to English from now on)

Can you give us closer pictures of the barrel and end connector?

Are those the pictures you asked for ? Can you tell me if something is wrong (as far as you can see) ? And, if so, can you tell me if there is a way to fix this myself ?

If not, guess I'll be making another trip to Antwerp...

Thanks for the replies.

It turns  out the connector in the barrel extender was off centre, not turned the right way, by the manufacturer.

<SOLVED>
