Have any of you ever used any sort of emulators. I found a website called The Emulator Zone. Its a really cool wesite it you look around on it. They have emulators for just about every sytem thats avalible.

I was just wondering if any of you have ever used any of these. I am curious, is it possible to put a PS2 emulator on a XBOX and play PS2 games. The best one that I saw was for XBOX and was called CXBX I think. You should really visit the website for CXBX. With that emulator I think that you can just buy the xbox games and put them into your computer and play them. The only thing I think you needed to have was a certain type of DVD Rom that has a special type of firmware.

I don't know very much about emulators designed to play on consoles(PS2 games on X-Box), but I have played a lot of older console (NES, SNES GBA, Atari, etc.)emulators on my PC.

An N64 emulator is a piece of software that convinces the game that your PC is actually an N64. It tries its best to use computer hardware to interpret the code of the game and play it on the PC.

A ROM is a piece of software that is copied directly from the game cartridge. It tries to convince the emulator that it is an actual N64 game pack.

So, the best emulators utilize the components of the PC to create a virtual game system.

P.S. Possessing an emulator is not illegal, but possessing a rom is. Do so at your own risk, but don't post links to rom sites here.

I'm from the States, but I live in Singpore. Yes, I could probably go to China or Taiwan or somewhere like that and get any sytem I wanted for like $30 but I woudl rather spend my money on a good one from the states or somewhere else. Usually the systems that aren't very good quality and will most likely break. I woudl rather get a real system , get a mod chip, then buy the "friendly" game for $1. That's where the companies like Sony and Microsoft make all of their money, on the games.

A bit off of this topic but, I am looking into getting a XBOX (I am selling my PS2). Does anyone here know anything about mod chips for them, or upgrading harddrives. Also has anyone ever does custom paintjobs or put LEDs in their XBOX's. That looks really cool.

Any suggestions in what I should do?

My special place is google with keywords such as roms and nintendo. Then I usually type a keyword as to what I am looking for, such as the game rock and roll racing, I type in rock racing as well. Then I click on all the links that look good, close out all the porn and voting popups and try to find some decent sites. I found out that having your parents in the room as you look for roms isn't a good idea with all the porn ingrained into the sites nowadays.

Owning a ROM is not illegal if you legally own the actual game.

Well, in that case, why would it matter if we posted sites to roms? I know owning the game entitles you to the rom, but I still think posting links to others would get you in trouble.

If anyone wants a good site, free from p()rn, I just found one. PM me for it.
