I enjoyed doing this. I didn't want to get into trouble for putting it in mods so I've put it here instead.

Got the blaster second hand, was already way past its use by, used the main spring in a Hammershot, the battery door spring in a Jolt and the rest of the blaster has given more people more pleasure than it ever would otherwise have done in stock form ^_^

I have also modified a vulcan not to long ago.  I simply took out the AR,increased the voltage, and added a spring compressor, it shoot about as far as a stock stryfe and I have been able to get some kills with it. A lot of people say its hard to open up but I can open one up in about 5 mins.

ALSO THERE IS A RED VULCAN SELLING ON EBAY FOR 88$ http://www.ebay.com/...FkAAOSw3mpXJrgz

Most members here will pay you to take one. Most people aren't willing to pay the shipping. I found one with a "FREE" sign on someone's lawn once and left it there.

I have a Vulcan laying around in my bits box. To be honest I quite like them, and designing and 3D printing extra cartridges/links for the chain is one of those things on my to do list.

Now THIS is something I'd like to see! Vulcans are ridiculously fun, but also impractical, unfortunately. However, if you are able to 3D print new chains, that could make it practical to use one with huge ammo boxes and absurd amounts of darts. I really hop you or someone else does this.

when used with very long chains the advancing mechanism explodes immediately.

vulcans are bad, but I support in honestly enjoying awful things because thats the way to live.

True.... UNLESS you support the said large chain on the way in like this:  (go to about two thirds through)

And then catch them on the way out like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvtucxgRuE4 (for me wielding, carrying, the whole lot, watch from the start, for the catching solution, go to the end...)

I spent a lot of time thinking about this!

The vulcan never jams/explodes as far as I'm concerned. If it does jam your doing one the following (or multiple)

list of things you may be doing wrong:

1.  Trying to get to feed with out a box to hold the belt.

The vulcan is not capable of pulling the belt up when gravity is pulling it down therefore you need the box so it feeding this way >  not this way ^ .

2. You the belt in upside down.

just make sure that when your loading it the NERF logo is facing you, if not it will jam sometimes.

3. you modded it and forgot to put something back in place.

This happens to me all the time.

I just stuffed a bunch on IMRs in it!

It was without a box at first, hence jamming, but then... did you watch till the end?
