This will be my first nerf mod outside of replacing springs and removing AR on my Triad. So I guess I decided to go pretty heavy from the start... but I feel like I am making decent progress. I bought a magnus a while ago and the 3 shot mag really bothered me. I looked into modding it and came up with several sources to modding it to accept the Centurion's magazine to make it a 6 shot mag. After some thinking I decided to take it upon myself to pioneer something I had not seen yet-a 9 shot magnus. I wanted to combine the current mag with the centurion's. So far so good...but I wanted to know if any of you xperienced modders out there knew of an easy solution here. Pics will follow eventually...but I barely have time to complete the mod with 3 kids and a full time job. But essentially I have everything together properly, I just need a decent method of connecting the integrated mag of the magnus with the 6 shot centurion mag. I have screwed it to the integrated mag on the back side, but the dart slider doesn't completely line up to the centurion's mag after those first 3 shots and gets stuck. Is there any way of permanently making these two parts into one? I've used epoxy, but the moldable stuff doesn't stick to smooth surfaces as well as I'd like it too, it's easily peelable.

Sounds like you're using epoxy putty, that stuff's great for reinforcement of a joint, to make it cleaner or to reinforce a stock piece. For joining pieces you want the two part liquid epoxy. What I would suggest is to cut out the bottom of the magnus' mag and glue the spring from the centurion mag together with the spring from the magnus' one. Then glue in the centurion mag and you're done.

It's more than just possible, it's easy and also been done before.

This is actually a Ten Shot Magnus I made over two years ago.

Pretty much exactly what has been said here is what I did to it, with one exception. Don't use "liquid epoxy", you need to use Methacrylate; MMA, Devcon, whatever brand just be sure it's active ingredient is Methacrylate. Leaps and bounds better than "liquid epoxy".

Just take your time, measure twice cut once.

Edit: Of course it's a Centurion barrel. It's also easily removable for when you don't want the feel of a "heavy pistol".

Can that topload or is the magazine/clip/ *insert filter word here, where "filter word" is equal to cl!p@z!ne* removable?

I'll take a look at the MMA, see where I can get it from. It looks like you've glued the mag to the gun itself? Doesn't this make it impossible to take the magnus apart again? I wanted to avoid that, even though it is the simplest way to go. Any advice on that?

See this is what I thought of first, but I want the gun to still be butterfly-able in case I need to take it apart for whatever reason. I did however use the putty to cement the springs together, that worked pretty well.

You simply separate the clip into it's own halves, and MMA weld them to the bottom of their respective blaster shell halves.

Everything can be separated for maintenance, and the barrel is removable.

Also, don't glue the clip advance springs together; tig weld it or (more commonly) wrap the bottom and top coils with some 24awg solid steel wire.

Yes, it is a top loader. I sacrificed the "removable clip" idea to squeeze four more into the mag.

Glue the magazine onto one side of the shell instead of both.

This is also something I considered. I tried posting pictures last night, but didn't have any more posts to use. I'll post them later. Right now it is securely screwed to the main side of the blaster, into the backing plate that creates the internal mag. But when I put the gun back together the magazine leans to one side and is crooked. I think at this point I may just have to cut my losses, undo what I did, and glue the f*#!er onto the gun and hope I don't have to take the thing apart ever again xP

Didn't see my above post? No need to "cut your losses", just flay the clip open and integrate the clip halves right onto the magnus shell halves. The blaster will still be fully dissasemble-able.

Use MMA, it's bond actually "solvent welds" ABS plastic together, and I guarantee something else will break before that bond gives out.

The bottom picture is the area I'm having the issue with. Duke, I just read your whole post and now I feel like an idiot...lol. I can still separate it, just at the clip halves instead of the pistol halves. derp. Looks like I'm ordering me some MMA
