Weather is looking like rain and possible thunder storms. Be prepared to play in heavy rain. Bring a change of clothing and wear clothing and footwear that dries quickly. If there is a risk of lightning strikes in the area, we will suspend play temporarily, and resume half an hour after lightning is no longer observed. There is no rain date, and the war will proceed as planned regardless of weather conditions.

I'm coming, even though all I have is superstock.  It will be my second war, and the first real test of my modified stryfe.  The prototype works; all I have to do is clean up those wires.

In celebration of my 10th Apoc, I want to make a mini documentary about the war this time, and it can be used to help promote future Apocs.  I'll have one of the government access channel's DSLRs with me, come talk about your loadout, your past Apocs, anything.  It would be especially awesome if someone like Phil could come talk about the history of Apoc.  It would also be much appreciated if someone can help find old war footage from mid-2000s and earlier ones, quality of the footage does not matter.

This was my second war and my first APOC.  I brought superstock and participated in the superstock rounds, and it was awesome.  I also got to meet several prominent members of the community in person.  I found out the real secret to surviving HvZ, learned about manufacturing of custom parts, and even picked up advice regarding youtube.  I can't wait for next year's APOC.

I had a blast, it was awsome until my 3K died on me in the last round of 3 15s, my lanard handcannon was very useful.

APOC 2016 feelings

Pros
-met Captain Slug, 
-got to chill with the south east crew
-rounds were quickly done and moved on to the next 
-Had a Place to sit
-Got several double kills that made me almost jizz myself
-Didn't Twist my ankle
-Got a "you only live thrice" Bandanna
-everyone was nearly on Par this year with arsenals, felt a little more balanced.
-every time my crew saw me sitting to long they got me back up for another round
-Someone mentioned out loud that mayo is gross  (someone had to say it)
-Drove back with lucian listening to Death Grips and SOAD.

Cons
-Puked in Round 1 (????)

-had to sit out a few rounds, 
-dart hit my safety glasses from +100 feet away flat. (always wear eye protection kids)
-Left my pants at the park.

10/10 would puke again

I would like to thank Langley for hosting an amazing war, running great rounds and giving me an active part in hosting. I would also like to thank everyone who helped bring equipment to the field in the morning and people who brought tents for us to use. Also, I would like to thank DX, Van, and Sam for bringing and setting up mobsticles.

 

Pros:

• Being able to see and talk to people again, if it had been a year or only two weeks.
• Seeing Miguel and Nick
• Being on a 2 man team with Nick in the morning wingman
• new staging area
• fun, mostly balanced teams creating high level play
• everyone enjoying the day and having fun
• being team captain multiple times before and after lunch

11/10 will nerf again. See you guys soon!

APOC 2016: TRUNKS OUT, JUNKS OUT

 

Pros:

• Ted and JLego and Langley (???) for favors.
• Hulking out on a Ripsaw.
• Subterfuge.
• Wingman with JLego.
• Big Blasting with Gears.
• Kill confirmed at 225 feet on Zaxbys, the world record for longest confirmed kill at a Nerf war.
• Dom's polo.
• Eiffel Tower.
• CVS bangers.
• Slug, Hersh, Groove and Zax, Koree, FlyingChicken, Lucian, the dude with the gold 4B, et al.

Aside: Props to Lucian for recognizing me since I rolled up with no fanfare, and also props for building a totally sweet dual-pump marshmallow blaster. It was generally fun to meet a ton of the people I had never met in person since the last time I was at an east coast war was 2012, and before that it was 2010, and before that it was never.

 

Cons:

• Toxic City, dogg.
• Slug's pulley blaster broke my body in a hotel room. (This should actually be in "pros.")
• Getting straight-up groped by the TSA because I was wearing a pair of Rick Owens pods on my flight back.

 

Pros:

- Seeing Slug again since 2009 Deal

 

It was 2010. I remember because we stopped at the math building to put our work into the mailbox of the Smartest Man In Argentina.

First of all, I want to thank Langley and everyone else that helped run the round. It all went really well, it was super fun, and we got a lot of playing in.

 

Pros:

• Reuniting with some friends after over a year
• Meeting Captain Slug and finally understanding how that piranha blaster worked
• Met some fellow Penn Staters!
• It didn't thunderstorm
• Killed it with my +bow during carpe
• Got my brother and Noah (the guy that was yelling pro-mayo slander) to come out with me
• Only one blaster broke
• Everyone there was awesome
• Talking to Clownie, Koree, Nick, Aeromech, and slug about their awesome blasters
• Didn't run out of darts 
• Only stepped in deer shit 58 times
• Harambe
• There are way more pros, I just can't remember it all

• Got a dildo waived in my face

Seriously, that was such a great time. Can't wait to be back next year!

My second worst war performance ever, though that's largely because of the roster of attendees being almost nothing but people way better than me. I only got satisfaction through having supplied others with effective equipment at that war.

Apoc2016 (AKA, Dicks Up, Beers Down) was undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable Apoc events of the last few years. The roster was well balanced with vets and fresh talent alike, and I couldn't be more happy. To everyone who raised their hands when Langley asked, "...if this is your first Apoc...": Keep Nerfing.

Apoc stands as the most competitive war in the entire world.

Pros:
- Reuniting with the LGLF and Sex Dwarves and Twins and Mag7 and Twinks and U3.
- The informal debut of the Sweet Juice Wizards.
- Conducting said wizardry with Zorn.
- (Big) Blasting fools with Ice9 for the first time in nearly four years.
- Frequent morale boosts from OMC.
- Chicken always being extra fabulous, and the silent shattering of my heart when he was always sniped from my early picks in 3-15.
- Mystic/Instinct dominating Team Valor during the unavoidable Pokemon Go speed round.
- Breaking Ice9's world record hit by landing a 282' shot on Groove while hidden in the foliage of the crescent and he in the woods with my breeched UMB (Unapologetically Milky Butt). I went back on Sunday and measured the exact distance by finding the exact dart I shot on the ground exactly where he was hit (thankfully it wasn't dart swept), bringing my overall confirmed kills throughout the day to 1, coming out to 476(1C, 475UC)/16/0 K/D/A.
- We Are...!
- The direct correlation between levels of getting wrecked and having a blast during Dom/Chickens Wingman rounds.
- Slug!
- Entering every round mentally prepared to get ruined by the Wonder Twins. (Status: Ruined.)
- Getting a chubby over Lucian's totally cool super-pump marshmallow cannon. Gimme that STL, yo!
- Continuing my legacy as the Queen of Hearts.
- Mead.
- Popcorn.
- Harley butt.
- Activating Jlego Mode and launching myself through the air during the final Pistols/Drac Rocket VIP round of the day, and not accidentally breaking someone's face in the process.

Cons
- Suicide Squad scenes that did not involve Harley butt.
- Elevator illustrations not involving Team Freight Elevator.

Apoc 2016 was easily the most balanced one I have been to, and probably one of the most balanced wars period.  Lots of Old Blood, lots of New Blood. Lots of New Blood waving Old Blood designs around. Lots of Old Blood waving... New-Old Blood designs.

 

Pros? uh, probably just easier to make a short list of cons. Highlights maybe?

Highlights:

Got to see friends from near and far again ^.^, and put faces to a few names I had not yet

  Gears, Langley, Miguel, Clownie, Ted, Aeromech, Chicken, and more

Traded a few blasters for an NIB CENTURION for Project Titan Rifle

Only payed (1) DT3 and $20 for travel costs

Serious rain stayed away until 5.468 minutes into cleanup

Actually playing in my Titan armor

Not destroying my Titan armor while actually playing in it

Adulted enough to put on sun block this year and only got lightly burnt

Serious discussion about aluminum parts that do not cost an arm and first born

 

Cons:

The Soccer Mom Van never shutting The Pie Hole (not expecting much, so low bar easily met)

SnoopyDogDouche yelling about his dick up a specific dead gorilla all day

Not enough light drizzle to cool off the day

Almost fell asleep while driving multiple times while driving home

And as someone else mentioned- sex toys not belonging to a Sex Dwarf (and only integrated with duct tape... come on pleb)

ahhhhhhh 3rd year doing NIC nerfing and I've came a long way. T'was a fun war, sorry for such a late response, I went to another private war the day after in someones house in PA after giving my all in the dreadful heat. (Fight me in zero degrees boiz) I had a lotta fun, some salt and tons of wounds. Everyone was cool af, and I'd love to nerf with everyone more and again. I miss all the people that didn't show up, more than enough friends didn't show up (in spoiler)

-carbine loaners were meh, but still made it so anyone that wanted a homemade had one
-somehow being one of the last one standing or first to die. Primarily last few standing
-being team captain. No really, fuck that shit. I'll make sure you're stuck with me doing that Phil
-all that attention being one of the few picked first. I would've been quieter otherwise
-only one new sig on the box, forgot to get others
-people leaving TOO DAMN EARLY (cough cough Craftsman)
-cuts blisters and still sore
-lugging around my 7 lb rifle because of extra pieces like camera and having to keep it point instead of low ready for recording

I'll have some video and pics up. I went through a lot of video, I have to cut stuff, may just cut out unneccesary parts for convenience and upload the rest of the stuff raw that I recorded (aprox 40 gigs of stuff and 5 hours of RAW video to go through. Thankfully a lot will go to Rob and I only have an hour or so)

Again, great thanks to everyone who did their damn best to make it out here, and played all day. It was fun and the highlight of my nerf year but not peak (gotta revize dem dahtz) I hope that old vets actually show up (at least like 10 people were missing off the top of my head, and probably more gone.
