Here are some pics of the hornet internals. It seems that the white tanks are connected permanently in pairs, as are the orange barrels. So far I can't find an easey way of getting the black/dark gray part off without damageing it. Things don't look good for removeing the air restrictors. they seem to be pretty far into the barrels, which seems to be cemented to the tanks. This ordinarily wouldn't be a problem, but I'm afraid to try and cut them out because any debris in the tank could seriously screw up the valve insides.
The only good news I have is that the tanks seem to be bigger than the blastfire tanks.

I should be getting an N-strike set *hopefully* within a few days. If nobody wants to risk fucking up their hornet, I'll do it. I'll post pics soon as I get my damn N-strike set... Veggie, for the air restrictors- is it possible to just yank them out with pliers? And as for the barrels, if you use brass, you could probably just sand down the inside of the orange barrels and ram the brass down them.

Mmmmm... good pictures. I approve.

I just went looking for the thing and found:

Atomizers
Reactors
Night Finders
Tech Targets
Blast Bazookas
Cyclotrons
Rapid Fire 20s
Jet Squadrons

...but no N-Strike.

From what I can get out of those pictures, my approach will probably be to cut the barrels off at a point that leaves me about 1/2" stub left. From there it should be reasonably easy to cut out the restrictors with an xacto. From there it should be reasonably easy to insert brass or PETG.

That's a really nice refinement on the BF. Considerably more newb friendly now that the gear is gone. I like the double-stack barrels. It fires top-left first and bottom-right last? Hard to follow the air tubes up near the release valve.

it looks like injection-molded spaghetti.
these pix are gonna be the bible to kids that have trouble putting everything back in the right place in a pump gun.

regarding air restrictors, i wouldn't advise twisting them out. if it's anything like the SS2 valve (which i strongly suspect it is), the restrictor is anchored to the valve plate in the reservoir, and the torque of twisting out the restrictors broke the seal on my SS2.
do what cxwq is planning to, chop the barrels off and dont worry about getting rid of the restrictor stub, just don't cram the dart that far into your brass/PETG.

I actually plan to get rid of the restrictors entirely, provided they are similar to the SF and BF. Once you cut the barrel down, you should have easy access to the X that supports the peg. Simply cut the X out of the ring that supports it. It's damage to the ring that has caused SF problems for so many people.

This is all supposition based on the design of the SF/BF style valve. I have yet to actually see a Hornet.

We have a winner! And your GRAND PRIZE is...........

Anyway, you are right. The orange-ridged pole resets the firing mechanism to shoot each barrel. I am still yet to take my Hornet apart, as I am working on the Titan right now.

I know this is a bad question to ask, but its been bugging me. The sliding piece which resets the gun, I know where it is on the internal pic, but where is it on the outside, what do you grab or slide or move to pull forward or back the knob on the inside? Is the piece on the left side (which there are no pictures of)? Is the whole front of the gun a slide?

The insides of the barrels actually look more like supermax barrels. They seem to have thos spring-loaded little disks that get cut off the air as soon as there isn't a dart in the barrel to hold them back. That's why I'm so worried about messing up the tanks by trying to just yank all that crap out.

i dont know how smart this might be on this gun, but to take out supermax and air tech barrels i use the method of heating them with a hair drier for a couple mins. then snap it apart, flinging the restrictor parts all over the place.
but like i said i dont know how smart this is, since i see in the pics that the orange barrels extend past the black/gray parts and into the tanks

still waiting for the damn set... GET to SO-CAL ALREADY!!!... DAMMIT !!!!
