im slowly getting more and more darts. which has me wondering whats the best way to store them.  

 

i was keeping darts in clips. sadly that left them squished and/or marked by the top of the clip. then i was throwing them into a bin. i got worried about what would happen if darts got bent up by doing that. now, i been storing what i got tip up in a bin. 

 

 

 

also, wondering how many darts people tend to have. myself i got about 500 with another 400 otw.

A large bin is what most people use. No need to over engineer a simple problem. Never store darts in clips, as what happened to you always happens. Personally I have a few of each stock dart, 340 ACC v2 darts and about 150 stefans.

I use somewhat small rubbermaid-type plastic bins that hold a few hundred darts (maybe 200-350 or so). I could use larger bins, but the smalls one are what I have and 2 or 3 containers are all I need to bring to a superstock Nerf war.

 

But yeah, to reiterate what BluesBro said, there's no need to overthink it. I suppose if you had a really big bin that was over 3 feet deep, the weight of the darts might cause them to deform at the bottom, but I've never seen or heard of anyone using bins that big/tall.

 

I have several thousand #6 and #8 slugs, a few dozen slingshot stefans (which I never use at wars!) and about 600+ Gen 3 Koosh darts.

I have had no problems with just "throwing them into a bin". But, whatever works for you. I like to seperate my darts by type, and I have every nerf dart type from the old dart tag onward. I store the smaller quantities in ziploc bags, and the larger in shoeboxes. I do think it would be neat to store them in some sort of a hoppered bench-loading system to load clips super fast, but that doesn't seem worth the effort.

I have 848 darts that I keep separated in ziplock bags by type.

netted bags the orange one that golf balls comes in are great and twice as big as the nerf netted bags.

I got a little over 500 USCs, about 3000 #6 Slugs, about 500 #8 Slugs, a variety of Stock darts, and about 300 Glow in the Dark China Darts. All stored in bins of some kind. Loose packing is key.

Three words: Talenti Gelato jars. They hold 35 elite or 25 whistler darts (probably 4-5 Megas). They are small, stack-able, durable and keeps moisture out. Plus it gives you and excuse to buy gelato (delicious)

I just use a clean trashcan. As long as you don't pack darts in, its fine. Currently its holding about 500 darts.

I particularly like to use the box from either 19200-P8A-A01, or 19200-RDV-J01 water pumps for Honda V6 engines.  Perfect size to ship a rocket in too.

Isn't buying pumps to get a box for your darts kind of expensive? I was told that Darts fit old army 7.62mm Ammunition Boxes perfectly. Used boxes are available on eBay, but I have not given it a try yet.

If I'm not mistaken, Drac is a mechanic.  So any time he needs another ammo box he just tells some poor sap with a v6 that they need a new water pump.
